White Plastic Bottle, Black Lotion Pump, 10 ml

A small white bottle with a volume of 10 ml and a black cream dispenser forms a complete ready-to-use set for serums, light creams and gels in small packaging. The white opaque wall limits light exposure to the contents, and the dispenser releases a small, repeatable amount of product with each press, without reaching fingers into the packaging. The set is therefore suitable for samples, travel-size packaging, eye creams, concentrated active preparations or trial packaging for customers.

The bottle is made of PET, the dispenser of PP. The complete set is declared suitable for use with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and certificate can be found with the product.

How the set works

The cream dispenser screws onto the bottle neck and draws the contents through a tube that reaches to the bottom. After screwing on, the dispenser needs to be pressed several times without dispensing, until the tube fills and product begins to come out. Each subsequent press then releases approximately the same dose, a fraction of a millilitre, which allows economical and precise dispensing for concentrated preparations.

The dispenser is not airless. With each press, air is drawn into the bottle to replace the removed contents. Water-based and emulsion products therefore need a functional preservation system, just as in a conventionally sealed bottle.

What the set is suitable for

• Serums and light emulsions – liquid to medium-thick textures pass through the tube and dispenser valve without issue and dispense evenly.
• Eye and face creams in small packaging – the small volume and small dose match the way these preparations are used. The contents are used up before they have time to age.
• Gels – transparent and opaque gels with low to medium viscosity. Very firm gels with a high proportion of thickener may be harder to dispense.
• Samples and travel-size packaging – the set is small and ready to use immediately after filling, without the need to choose an additional closure.

The cream dispenser is not suitable for thick ointment textures, balms and products with very high viscosity; such contents will not pass through the tube. With very thin oils and water-based tonics, the dispenser can be used, but after setting it down, product may drip from the nozzle. For such contents, a bottle with a dropper or spray pump is more suitable.

Filling, volume and reserve

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling conditions. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference between them is the allowance for the tube and dispenser mechanism, which after screwing on take up part of the interior space, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will be pushed out through the neck when screwing on the dispenser.

Filling is made easier with a small funnel or a needleless syringe. For thicker emulsions, it is practical to fill the product while it is still warm and thinner, and to screw on the dispenser only after it has cooled.

What is good to know

• Preparation before first filling – rinse both the bottle and the dispenser, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Pump the disinfectant solution through the dispenser and then clean water, so that no residue remains in the mechanism.
• Repeated use – the PET bottle can be reused after thorough washing. The dispenser is harder to clean, and when changing product it is advisable to check that no residue from the previous contents remains.
• Material sensitivity – PET and PP tolerate standard cosmetic bases. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents, we recommend testing the packaging behaviour with the specific formulation in advance. Do not expose the bottle to high temperatures or aggressive chemicals.
• Labelling – the label area is small and cylindrical for this format.
• Other closures – the bottle has a standard neck size indicated in the parameters, so it can also be combined with other closures of the same neck type from the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.
• Recycling – the bottle belongs with plastics as PET, the dispenser as PP. Separate both parts before disposal.
