Product description

A white glass bottle 100 ml with a white-gold sprayer is a ready-made set for tonics, facial mists and perfumed waters. The bottle and sprayer fit together without searching for a cap, so you just fill, screw on and the product is ready for use or sale. White opaque glass shields the contents from light, yet looks clean and bright, which you will appreciate with products where the label and overall appearance play the main role.

The set is intended for cosmetic products and both components are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. A declaration of conformity and related documents are available with the product.

What the set is suitable for

The sprayer disperses liquid contents into a fine mist, so the set is best suited for thin, aqueous and alcoholic preparations:

  • Facial tonics and hydrolates – a fine mist is applied evenly without a cotton pad.
  • Facial and body mists – refreshing and moisturising sprays with low viscosity.
  • Perfumed waters and hair fragrances – an alcohol base sprays cleanly and glass does not react with it.
  • Hair sprays and leave-in conditioners – if the formulation is thin enough to pass through the nozzle.
  • Textile and room sprays – thin aqueous or alcoholic mixtures.

Thick oils, emulsions of creamy consistency and gels cannot be handled by the sprayer. The mechanism clogs or doses unevenly. A pump bottle or a jar is more suitable for such contents.

How the sprayer works

The sprayer is mechanical, with no propellant gas. One press releases a small, consistent dose of approximately 0.14 ml as a mist, making it suitable for products where a thin layer is applied over a larger area. The dip tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so the contents can be used up almost entirely. When held upright it doses reliably; when turned upside down it draws in air. This should be taken into account with body sprays applied to the back.

The head and threaded part are made of plastic; the shiny gold collar is metal. The sprayer is therefore a combination of plastic and aluminium.

Before filling a larger batch, check how your formulation behaves in this sprayer, especially with essential oil content, a higher proportion of oil or thickeners. A few days in a filled bottle will reveal whether the nozzle sticks, whether the mist disperses evenly and whether the joint seals.

Volume and filling

Packaging distinguishes between nominal volume and total brim-full volume. Nominal volume is the amount for which the bottle is designed for regular filling. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the atomiser tube and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim — otherwise, once the atomiser is screwed on, the contents will be pushed out through the neck.

What's good to know

  • Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle and sprayer, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave to dry completely. Pump the sprayer several times to treat the dip tube and nozzle as well. Residual water would dilute the contents and could cause cloudiness in anhydrous formulations.
  • Repeated use – the glass can be washed and refilled without any problem. After the previous contents, rinse the sprayer with clean water and pump it several times to clean the nozzle and dip tube.
  • Glass and heat – sudden temperature changes, such as hot contents in a cold bottle, can damage the glass. Allow contents to cool to at least lukewarm temperature.
  • Plastic and aggressive contents – a high proportion of essential oils, d-limonene or solvents can affect the plastic parts of the sprayer over time. Check compatibility for such formulations.
  • Labelling – the white background makes both colourful and minimalist labels stand out.
  • Replacement caps – if you want to combine the bottle differently, caps with the same neck type can be found in the Handymade range. With your own combination, check sealing and dosing.
  • Recycling – glass goes in the glass bin; the sprayer, as a combination of plastic and aluminium, is sorted separately.

The set is not intended for contact with food. Use it for cosmetic and similar non-food preparations.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, white glass is opaque and does not let light through to the contents. It is therefore suitable for hydrolates, tonics with plant extracts or perfumed waters that would lose their fragrance or change colour in the light. The contents cannot be seen from the outside, so it is necessary to shake or weigh the bottle to check the level.
What contents can be sprayed in the 100 ml bottle set?
The sprayer can handle thin aqueous and alcoholic liquids, i.e. tonics, hydrolates, facial mists, perfumed waters and hair sprays. Very thin oils can be sprayed to a limited extent and the mist will be coarser. Thick oils, emulsions and gels will not pass through the nozzle or will clog it. For those, choose a pump or another type of cap.
How much content fits in a 100 ml bottle with an atomiser?
It is filled to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not to the brim. The bottle also has a small reserve up to the neck that remains free for the atomiser tube and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If it were filled completely, the contents would be pushed out once the atomiser is screwed on.
Can the sprayer from the set be used repeatedly?
Yes, with normal use the sprayer can be rinsed and refilled after emptying. After oily or perfumed contents, pump warm water with a drop of cleaning agent through it and then clean water to remove residues that would clog the nozzle. When changing the type of contents, it is more reliable to use a new sprayer.
Is the set suitable for perfumed waters with alcohol?
Yes, alcoholic perfumed waters are among the most suitable contents for this set. Glass does not react with alcohol and the mechanical sprayer creates a fine mist. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, check that the plastic parts of the sprayer do not react with the contents, for example with a brief test in a filled bottle.
