Product description

The amber glass pharmaceutical bottle with a capacity of 30 ml and a white and gold fine mist sprayer is ready-made packaging for facial toners, hydrolates, refreshing face and hair sprays, or a smaller pack of fragrance water. Amber glass reduces the amount of light that gets through, so light-sensitive contents stay more stable in it than in a clear bottle. The sprayer disperses the liquid into a mist, so it is dispensed without your fingers touching the contents.

The white head with a glossy gold finish suits gift packaging, your own small batch, or samples for customers. The sprayer is made of polypropylene (PP) and aluminium, and the bottle is made of glass. Both components are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

  • Toners and hydrolates – water-based formulations are sprayed evenly and the face is refreshed without a cotton pad.
  • Hair sprays – leave-in hair mists, blends of hydrolate and glycerine, or light spray conditioners.
  • Fragrance waters and fresheners – alcohol-based blends with a fragrance composition in an amount that is used up before the scent changes.
  • Travel and trial packs – 30 ml is enough for a holiday, for trying out a new formulation, or for a sample for a customer.

The sprayer may not disperse oils and thicker blends evenly. With such contents, we recommend testing the dispensing on a small quantity and checking whether the nozzle drips.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical space up to the neck and can be found in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the sprayer’s dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes.

Fill the bottle up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is filled completely, the contents are pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on, and the thread stays wet.

Good to know

  • Preparation before the first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer by pressing it several times with clean water and then run it dry.
  • Sprayer dip tube – before first use, check that the tube reaches the bottom of the bottle. If it is longer, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it draws up even the last millilitres.
  • Glass and temperature – let the contents cool before filling, as glass reacts sensitively to sudden temperature changes.
  • Reuse – after washing and disinfection, the bottle can be refilled repeatedly. Rinse the sprayer after it is emptied, otherwise residues in the nozzle dry out and dispensing worsens.
  • Contact with food – the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The complete set with the sprayer is intended for cosmetics as a whole.
  • Recycling – put the glass bottle in glass recycling, and unscrew the plastic and aluminium sprayer before sorting.

For contents with a higher proportion of essential oils or alcohol, we recommend checking how the plastic parts of the sprayer behave with your specific formulation, especially the tightness and the condition of the nozzle after several weeks of use.

Closures with the same neck finish as stated in the parameters, as well as ready-made combinations of this bottle with other closures, can be found in the Handymade range.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber glass pharmaceutical bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, amber glass reduces the amount of light that gets through and slows the changes that daylight causes in hydrolates, toners and fragrance waters. It is not a complete barrier, however, so we recommend storing the packaging away from direct sunlight. For contents with antioxidants or light-sensitive active ingredients, amber glass is more suitable than clear glass.
How much liquid fits into the 30 ml pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer?
The bottle is normally filled with 30 ml, which is its nominal volume. The physical space up to the neck is slightly larger, but this reserve is taken up by the sprayer’s dip tube and by the space for the expansion of the contents. If you fill it to the brim, part of the contents is pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on.
Can the glass pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer be reused?
Yes, after washing and disinfection with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, the glass bottle can be refilled repeatedly. The sprayer lasts for more cycles if you rinse it with clean water after each emptying and spray it dry. When switching to a different type of formulation, we recommend a new sprayer instead, as residues of fragrance or oil are difficult to remove from the nozzle.
Is the sprayer suitable for alcohol-based and oil-based contents?
The sprayer is intended primarily for water-based and alcohol-based liquids with low viscosity, such as toners, hydrolates and fragrance waters. Oils and thicker blends do not form an even mist in the nozzle, and the sprayer often dispenses them as a jet. For alcohol-based formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking the behaviour of the plastic parts beforehand on a small quantity.
Is the glass pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer suitable for food?
No, the complete set with the sprayer is intended for cosmetic products as a whole. Only the glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The sprayer has no such declaration, so the whole assembly is not stated as suitable for food use.
Which closure fits the 30 ml glass pharmaceutical bottle?
Closures with the same neck finish as stated in the product parameters fit the bottle. In the Handymade range, you will also find ready-made combinations of this pharmaceutical bottle with a cap, a dropper or another sprayer. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness and dispensing directly with your formulation.
