Product description

White plastic bottle with fine mist sprayer for toners, hydrolates and sprays

The set of a white 50 ml PET bottle and a glossy white and silver fine mist sprayer is designed for liquid cosmetic products that are applied by spraying. White opaque plastic lets less light through to the contents than clear plastic, so it is suitable for hydrolates, facial toners and aqueous solutions of active ingredients that lose stability in light. PET is lightweight and does not break when dropped. The bottle with sprayer is easy to carry in a handbag or travel bag and is also used when working with clients in a salon.

The colour of the sprayer matches the white bottle. Each press releases a small, consistent dose dispersed into a fine mist, which is useful for products applied over a larger area of skin or hair.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial toners and hydrolates – the sprayer applies a thin layer without the product touching your hands, and the white plastic also reduces light exposure.
  • Hair sprays and leave-in hair waters – thin hair products spray comfortably onto the lengths.
  • Refreshing body waters – a smaller pack for travel or for a trial batch.
  • Alcohol-based sprays for hands and tools – provided that the formulation complies with the rules for the given type of product.
  • Samples and test batches – 50 ml is enough to check the fragrance, stability or customer response before larger-scale production.

How to work with the set

The sprayer is designed for thin aqueous or alcohol-based liquids. It draws up thick emulsions, gels and pure vegetable oils poorly and produces a stream or drops instead of a mist. For an oil-based product, therefore, test a small sample first and only then fill the whole batch.

The bottle has a nominal volume of 50 ml, that is, the volume it is intended to hold during normal filling. The total volume up to the rim of the neck is larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the dip tube of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the rim, otherwise part of the contents will be pushed out when the sprayer is fitted.

Before fitting, check that the dip tube of the sprayer reaches approximately to the bottom of the bottle and does not bend. If it is longer, cut it at an angle with a sharp knife so that it also draws up the remainder of the contents.

After tightening the sprayer, turn the bottle upside down and watch for a moment to see whether the contents leak. Tightness depends on the thread seating evenly, so do not overtighten.

Cleaning, compatibility and reuse

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect the inside with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Residual water would dilute and spoil the contents, especially in preservative-free products.

The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the bottle has a separate certificate for direct food contact. The sprayer does not have one, so the set is not intended for filling food products.

With prolonged contact with undiluted essential oils and some solvents, the plastic may soften or lose its appearance. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, check how the packaging behaves on one bottle over several weeks.

Neither the bottle nor the sprayer is intended for heating. Let hot solutions cool to room temperature before filling.

After thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle can be reused. Rinse the sprayer with clean water with a little ethanol and pump it dry several times to remove residues of the previous contents from the dip tube and nozzle. You can find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. If you combine components yourself, check the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.

The bottle is made of PET and belongs in sorted plastic waste. The sprayer combines polypropylene with aluminium, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, white opaque PET lets less light through to the contents than a clear bottle. This is an advantage for hydrolates, toners and solutions of sensitive active ingredients, although white plastic does not fully replace dark glass. Store products with very sensitive ingredients away from direct sunlight and use up the contents within a shorter time.
How much can actually be filled into the 50 ml bottle with sprayer?
The bottle should be filled with 50 ml of contents, which is the nominal volume, not filled to the rim. The space above this level is a reserve for the dip tube of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. An overfilled bottle overflows when the sprayer is tightened and seals less well, so use a measuring cup or scales when filling.
Can the sprayer be used to apply oil or an oil serum?
Only to a limited extent. The sprayer is designed for thin aqueous and alcohol-based liquids that disperse into a mist. It draws up pure vegetable oils and thicker products with more difficulty and produces more of a stream or drops. For oil-based formulations, test the behaviour on a small sample or choose a different type of closure for the bottle.
Is the set with sprayer suitable for alcohol-based sprays?
Yes, the sprayer disperses thin alcohol solutions into a mist, so it is suitable for alcohol-based sprays for hands or tools. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils or other solvents, check whether the plastic changes in appearance or shape after several weeks. The product itself must comply with the rules for the given type of product.
Can I use the white 50 ml bottle for food as well?
The bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact, but the sprayer does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended only for cosmetic products. If you need packaging for homemade oils, syrups or infusions, choose a closure for the bottle whose suitability for food contact is stated in its parameters.
