Product description

A bottle with a pump dispenser for serums, fluids and light creams that need to be protected from light and dispensed hygienically in small amounts. This is a ready-made packaging and closure set: a white plastic bottle in the shape of a vial with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a matching white-gold glossy pump dispenser. No need to search for a suitable closure or test the thread seal.

The bottle is made of PET, making it lightweight and shatterproof. The pump dispenser with a gold ring and white head gives the small package a look that suits facial products, gift sets and small professional series. The complete set is intended for cosmetic products.

Why choose this set

  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents are not scooped with fingers or poured. The pump delivers a small, repeatable dose of approximately 0.14 ml with each press, which is advantageous for serums and products with a higher concentration of active ingredients.
  • Protection of contents from light – the white opaque plastic limits light exposure, helping to slow the oxidation of oils and the fading of colour ingredients. It does not, however, replace an antioxidant or proper preservation.
  • Low weight and durability – PET will not shatter when dropped in the bathroom or during transport, making it suitable for travel and sample packaging.
  • Tested combination – the bottle neck and the pump thread are matched, so you do not need to worry about closure compatibility. With your own combinations using other closures of the same neck type, we recommend verifying the seal.
  • Practical 50 ml volume – suitable for a facial serum, eye fluid or light cream that will be used up within a few weeks, when the home formulation is still in its best condition.

How to work with the set

Before first filling, we recommend washing and disinfecting both the bottle and the pump with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. The pump simply needs to be rinsed a few times with clean water or alcohol by pressing it while submerged in the solution and then pumping out the remainder.

The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is the amount the container is designed for under normal filling conditions. The total volume up to the neck is greater. The difference provides a reserve for the pump's dip tube, which takes up some space when fitted, and for the expansion of the contents when temperatures change. If the bottle is filled right up to the neck, the contents will overflow when the pump is screwed on.

The pump's dip tube is longer than the height of the bottle. Before fitting, trim it so it reaches just above the bottom; the contents will then be used up with minimal residue. After fitting, press the pump a few times without dispensing to prime the tube and mechanism with the contents. Only then will it dispense evenly.

The pump is designed for liquid and semi-liquid formulations: serums, gels, fluids, lotions and light creams. Thick ointment creams and butters will not pass through it or will dispense unevenly. Conversely, very thin aqueous solutions and oils with low viscosity may drip from the head. It is advisable to test the behaviour of a specific formulation on one unit before a larger production run.

Suitable for products such as

  • facial serums with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide or peptides, where precise dosing and light protection matter,
  • eye and facial fluids and light O/W emulsions,
  • gel serums and moisturising gels with carbomer or xanthan at lower concentrations,
  • oil serums and blends of vegetable oils of medium viscosity,
  • liquid foundation bases and BB fluids,
  • samples and travel sizes of cream products for salons and small brands.

With aqueous and emulsion formulations, effective preservation is necessary even with a pump dispenser. While the contents do not come into contact with fingers, air does enter the bottle with each press.

Good to know

Food contact. The white bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact. The pump does not, so the set as a whole is not intended for food use and is suitable exclusively for cosmetics. Suitability for contact with cosmetic products is declared for both components; declarations of conformity are listed with the product.

Material and contents. PET tolerates common cosmetic oils, emulsions and aqueous gels. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or organic solvents, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the bottle and pump mechanism in advance, as such ingredients can put prolonged stress on plastic. The bottle is not intended to be filled with hot material; emulsions are filled after cooling.

Pump appearance. The shiny gold ring is aluminium; the head and mechanism are made of PP. When cleaning, avoid abrasive products, as the glossy surface scratches easily.

Reuse. The bottle can be refilled after thorough washing and disinfection. The pump can be rinsed, but after prolonged use with an emulsion, residue may remain in the mechanism that is difficult to remove. For a new product, a new pump is the better option.

Labelling. The smooth cylindrical body of the bottle allows labels to be applied easily. The white background shows up well with both single-colour and transparent labels.

The pump is not an airtight closure. When transporting and storing filled units, we recommend securing the head against accidental pressing; otherwise, some of the contents will be pushed into the outer packaging.

Recycling. The PET bottle belongs in sorted plastics. The pump is a combination of plastic and aluminium; separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 50 ml plastic bottle with a pump dispenser suitable for facial serum with active ingredients?
Yes, the white opaque bottle with a pump dispenser is suitable for serums. The contents are protected from light, no finger enters the product, and the pump delivers a small, consistent dose, which is practical for concentrated serums containing vitamins, peptides or niacinamide. The formulation must be liquid or gel-like so that it passes through the mechanism evenly.
Why should the 50 ml bottle not be filled to the brim?
Because the pump's dip tube takes up some space once fitted, and the contents would overflow when the pump is screwed on. The bottle should be filled to the nominal volume, not to the neck. The gap between the nominal and total volume also allows for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes and for the air space that the pump needs to operate.
Can a thick cream or body butter be dispensed through the pump?
No, the pump is designed for liquid and semi-liquid products. Thick creams and butters will not pass through the dip tube and mechanism, or will dispense unevenly. A jar or pot is more suitable for such formulations. Light creams, fluids, lotions, gels and serums are dispensed by the pump without problems.
Is the bottle and pump set suitable for food products, such as kitchen oils?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for food contact. Only the white PET bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the pump does not carry such a declaration. The set is therefore intended exclusively for cosmetic products, for which both components are declared.
How is the bottle with pump dispenser cleaned, and can it be reused?
The bottle is washed with warm water and a mild detergent, disinfected with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry completely. It is then ready for the next fill. The pump is rinsed by pressing it in clean water or alcohol and pumping out the remainder. After prolonged use with emulsions, however, residue may remain in the mechanism; for a new product, a new pump is more reliable.
Does the white PET bottle protect the contents from light in a similar way to dark glass?
White opaque plastic limits light access to the contents in a similar way to dark glass. The difference lies in the material: PET is lightweight and shatterproof, but for formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or organic solvents, it is advisable to check the behaviour of the plastic in advance. Light protection does not replace an antioxidant or preservation system; the formulation requires both regardless of the packaging.
