White Plastic Bottle, Black Aluminium Cap, 50 ml

The white plastic bottle with an 18 mm neck and a black aluminium cap forms a ready-made set for filling liquid and semi-liquid preparations in a volume of 50 ml. The pharmaceutical bottle shape with a narrow neck makes pouring easier without spilling, and the opaque white plastic hides the contents, so less light reaches the preparation than in clear packaging. PET is lightweight and, unlike glass, does not break when dropped, so the bottle is also suitable for preparations that are carried in a bag or shipped to customers.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What it is suitable for

The 50 ml volume and narrow neck suit preparations that are dispensed by pouring or decanting into a smaller container:

• Face and body oils – the white material protects them from light better than clear packaging.
• Toners and hydrolates – water-based preparations pour from the narrow neck in a controlled way, without splashing.
• Tinctures and alcohol extracts – with a high alcohol content, we recommend testing how the material behaves with your specific formulation.
• Samples and travel sizes – 50 ml fits into hand luggage and the lightweight plastic does not add unnecessary weight to the pack.
• Intermediates in production – a measured amount of oil phase or water phase, fragrance blends, solutions of active ingredients.

Cap and seal

The black aluminium cap screws onto the neck. Inside it has a foam sealing liner made of polyethylene, which sits against the rim of the neck and prevents leakage when the bottle is turned upside down or transported. The cap does not dispense; the contents are poured out of the bottle. The set is therefore better suited to preparations used in larger amounts per application than to serums that are dispensed drop by drop.

Volume and filling

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity is larger because the physical space extends up to the neck. The difference serves as a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise part of the contents will be pushed under the cap when it is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the cap, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave them to dry completely. Residual water in the packaging shortens the stability of anhydrous preparations and increases the microbial risk in water-based preparations.

Pour in preparations only after they have cooled down. PET is not designed for hot filling and may deform at high temperatures. Store the bottles away from heat sources and direct sunlight.

For concentrated essential oils, undiluted fragrance compositions and preparations containing solvents, we recommend testing compatibility with PET on a small amount and observing the packaging for several weeks.

After thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle can be reused. However, the foam liner of the cap loses its elasticity over time, so check the seal when reusing it. After use, the PET bottle and the aluminium cap are unscrewed and sorted separately.
