White Plastic Bottle, Oil Pump, 50 ml

This is a ready-to-use packaging and closure set: a white plastic bottle in a vial shape with a nominal volume of 50 ml, fitted with a black oil dispenser pump and a transparent protective cap. The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight, and its opaque white wall restricts light access to the contents. This is an advantage for oils and oil blends, which lose quality faster when exposed to light.

The dispenser is designed for oil-based and liquid contents dispensed in small amounts. The set is therefore best suited for facial oils, oil serums, hair and beard oils, oil cleansers, travel-size massage oils, or blends of carrier oils with dissolved lipophilic active ingredients. The entire set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the bottle alone holds food-contact certification; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

How the dispenser works

The dispenser works as a pump: pressing the head draws the contents from the bottle through the tube and pushes it out. One press releases a small, consistently similar amount. This makes it easy to dose facial oils, where just a few drops are sufficient. The exact dose per press is listed in the product parameters. Compared to a dropper, the dispenser can be operated with one hand and the contents do not come into contact with fingers during dispensing, which is a practical advantage for oils without preservatives.

The transparent protective cap protects the pump head from dust and accidental pressing in a bag or drawer. We recommend replacing it after each use, as it also reduces the drying of oil residue at the mouth of the pump head.

• Oil-based contents – the dispenser is designed for oils and liquid lipid blends; it works best with these.
• Thicker blends – oleogels, balms and blends with a high proportion of butters will not pass through the tube and head; for these, choose a jar or tube.
• Water-based and alcohol-based contents – the dispenser will draw these in, but dosing and seal integrity should be verified, as the packaging is not primarily intended for them.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for during standard filling. The total volume up to the neck rim is larger. The difference between them is the headspace for the dispenser tube and head, which take up some space inside the bottle once fitted, and for the expansion of the contents when temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will be pushed out through the neck when the dispenser is screwed on, and the set will not seal properly.

Preparation before first filling

Before first use, we recommend washing and disinfecting both the bottle and dispenser with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Rinse the dispenser tube with ethanol and press it several times without any content to flush out any residues.

For repeated use, empty the bottle, wash it with warm water and detergent, rinse and disinfect. Pump the dispenser through with warm water and a small amount of detergent, then with clean water and ethanol, and allow to dry. Any old oil residue left in the tube could otherwise oxidise and contaminate the new contents.

Good to know

The white wall of the bottle protects the contents from light, but not from heat. PET is not intended for filling with hot contents or for storage at elevated temperatures. Fill oils once they have cooled down and store the finished product away from heat sources. The bottle is declared suitable for cosmetic products, but do not expose it to aggressive chemicals.

The bottle is made of PET and belongs in the sorted plastic waste stream. Before disposal, unscrew the dispenser and cap from the bottle and dispose of them separately according to the material indicated in the parameters.
