White Plastic Bottle, White Flip Top Cap, 18/410, 10 ml

The white plastic pharmaceutical bottle, 10 ml, with a flip top cap is packaging for small quantities of liquid cosmetics: serum samples, oils, cleansing gels or travel sizes. The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. Both parts are lightweight and do not break when dropped, so the set fits easily in a bag and works well for test samples and gift packs. The white wall limits the amount of light reaching the contents, which you will appreciate with oils and with products containing light-sensitive ingredients.

The set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products; both the bottle and the cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Only the bottle has a food-contact certificate on its own.

How the set works

• Flip top cap – opens by flipping up with one hand, and the contents are dispensed through a small opening by tilting and squeezing the bottle. Once the cap is snapped shut, the opening is closed.
• Pharmaceutical bottle, 10 ml – a narrow cylindrical shape with an 18 mm neck onto which the cap is screwed. The volume is enough for a sample, a travel pack for a few days or a trial batch of a new recipe.
• White PET and PP – the whole set is lightweight, does not break and can be refilled after washing.

What it is suitable for

It works best with liquid and medium-thick products that flow smoothly through the flip top opening: face and oil serums, massage and body oils, liquid soaps, micellar waters, thin cleansing gels and hair oils. A thick cream or balm will not pass through the opening; for such textures, choose a jar or a different type of closure.

The small volume proves its worth for customer samples, for testing a new recipe and for travel versions of larger packs.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 10 ml is the amount the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total volume up to the rim of the neck is larger. The difference is a reserve for the space under the cap and for the slight change in the volume of the contents when the temperature fluctuates. For this reason, fill to the nominal volume, not to the rim; otherwise the contents will be pushed out when the cap is snapped shut or the bottle is tilted.

Fill the bottle only after the product has cooled. PET is not intended for hot filling, and a warm product could deform the wall of the bottle. With oils, it helps to fill through a small funnel or a syringe. With water-based and gel products, it is enough to pour carefully so that foam does not form in the neck.

Good to know

• Essential oils and solvents – when diluted in oils or in finished recipes, they are commonly used in PET packaging. Pure essential oils, high-concentration alcohol and strong solvents can affect plastic, so with such contents we recommend checking how the packaging behaves in the finished formulation.
• Leak tightness – with water-based products and before shipping, test the filled bottle by turning it upside down and laying it on its side.
• Reuse – both parts can be washed, disinfected and refilled. When changing the contents, for example from oil to a water-based product, degrease the packaging thoroughly.
• Other closures – the bottle has an 18 mm neck; you will find closures with the same neck type, as well as other ready-made combinations, in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking leak tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.
• Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP, and both materials are recyclable plastics. Before sorting, empty the packaging and rinse it.
