Product description
The set of a 50 ml glass bottle with a black-gold dropper is designed for products applied drop by drop or in small amounts: facial serums, facial and hair oils, blends with essential oils, anhydrous elixirs or oil cleansers. The dropper picks up exactly as much as needed, and the remainder stays in the bottle without contact with fingers.
The bottle is made of glass with a transparent matte, milky finish that lets the colour and quantity of the contents show through. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and certificate are included with the product. It is not approved for contact with food, so it is not intended for edible oils or syrups.
Key properties of the set
- Dropper dosing – the silicone bulb and glass tube of the dropper draw up and dispense a small amount of contents, which is more practical with concentrated serums and oils than pouring from the neck.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not touch the skin or fingers; only the glass tube returns to the bottle, reducing the risk of contamination.
- Glass without interaction with contents – the glass body of the bottle and the glass tube of the dropper do not react with plant or essential oils.
- Ready-to-use combination – the dropper thread matches the bottle neck; no need to search for and verify a separate closure.
- Black-gold appearance – the dark cap with a gold element on matte glass looks cohesive and suits products that should look polished on the shelf.
What the set is suitable for
It works best with contents of low to medium viscosity that the dropper can easily draw up and dispense: water-based and oil-based serums, face, beard and hair-end oils, blends of carrier and essential oil, oil bath concentrates or anhydrous serums with oil-soluble active ingredients. The 50 ml volume suits products dosed at a few drops per day and used up within a few months.
Thick gels, creams and products with suspended particles cannot be reliably drawn up by the dropper; a pump or jar is more suitable for those. For very thick oils, such as pure castor oil, we recommend testing dropper dispensing in advance.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for at normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the glass tube of the dropper, which takes up some space once screwed in, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; otherwise the contents will reach the thread after the dropper is fitted and impair the seal.
Before first filling, wash the bottle and the glass tube of the dropper, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in an oil-based product may promote microbial growth.
What is good to know when filling and using
When filling, a small funnel or a beaker with a spout helps to prevent contents from running into the thread. It is sufficient to tighten the dropper lightly; tightening it with force stresses both the thread and the bulb.
For products with a higher proportion of essential oils or containing ethanol, we recommend checking the behaviour of the silicone bulb and plastic interior of the dropper with the specific formulation, as some ingredients may affect soft materials over time. The dropper is not a hermetic closure, so it is not suitable for contents that need to be protected from evaporation or air exposure as strictly as in a vial with a cap.
Matte milky glass reduces direct light, but does not replace amber or blue glass. Contents that are particularly sensitive to light should be stored away from direct sunlight or stored in dark glass.
The bottle is made of glass, so do not expose it to sudden temperature changes, such as filling with a hot oil phase or rinsing with hot water immediately after removing from cold. It withstands repeated use; after washing and disinfecting it can be refilled. When changing the contents, it is recommended to disassemble the dropper, rinse it and allow it to dry, or replace it with a new one. The glass body of the bottle belongs in the sorted glass collection; due to the combination of materials, separate the dropper and dispose of it separately.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range; with a custom combination we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.
