Product description

This 10 ml glass bottle with a black and gold fine mist sprayer is designed for small packs of liquid cosmetic products that are applied as a spray. The clear glass shows both the colour and the remaining amount of the contents, and the glossy black and gold closure sets it apart from ordinary laboratory medicine bottles. The volume suits a travel size or tester of perfume, eau de toilette, facial mist, hydrosol or refreshing spray. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What the set includes

  • Glass medicine bottle, 10 ml – clear glass in a medicine bottle shape with an 18 mm neck. The glass does not take on the fragrance of the contents.
  • Plastic fine mist sprayer 18 mm – made of PP, plastic and aluminium, with a glossy black and gold finish. One press dispenses approximately 0.14 ml.

The sprayer comes with a dip tube that is longer than the height of the bottle. Before fitting it for the first time, trim it at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom. The tube will then draw up the contents even from an almost empty bottle.

What it is suitable for

The set is suited to thin liquids that the sprayer disperses into fine droplets. Most often this is perfume or eau de toilette for travel, a fragrance sample for a customer, a face or hair mist, a toner or a hydrosol in a small pack. It also works for a refreshing handbag spray or for samples of your own products that you want people to try before you sell a larger size.

Thick products, gels and oils with higher viscosity will not pass through the sprayer, or it will squirt them out as a stream instead of a mist. For these, bottles with a dropper or pump are a better choice.

With perfume compositions and products with a high content of alcohol or essential oils, fill one bottle as a trial and after a few days check the seal of the thread and how the sprayer works. The glass withstands these contents; we recommend checking the plastic parts of the closure with your specific formulation.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended to hold when filled normally. Total brimful volume is the physical volume right up to the neck and is larger. The difference between them leaves room for the sprayer’s dip tube, which takes up part of the space once the closure is screwed on. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow when the closure is tightened and the contents will get into the thread.

Good to know

Before filling for the first time, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with pure ethanol and press it a few times while empty so that any water comes out of the dip tube.

Clear glass offers no protection from light. Store light-sensitive contents, such as perfume with natural essential oils or a hydrosol without preservative, in the dark or in a box. For long-term storage of light-sensitive products, choose amber or blue glass.

The set can be used repeatedly. After washing and disinfecting, the bottle can be refilled without limit. After perfume, the sprayer may retain the original fragrance for some time, so rinse it thoroughly or replace it with a new one when you change the contents.

The set is intended for cosmetics. It is not approved for contact with food, so do not use it for edible oils, syrups or other foods.

Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations are available in the Handymade range. If you put together your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

When you have finished using it, the glass bottle goes into glass recycling. The sprayer is made of plastic and aluminium and is recycled separately from glass.

Frequently asked questions

Does a clear 10 ml glass bottle protect its contents from light?
No, clear glass lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. The advantage is that you can see the colour of the product and how much is left. Store light-sensitive products, such as perfumes with natural essential oils or unpreserved hydrosols, in the dark, or choose an amber or blue glass bottle.
How much does a 10 ml glass bottle with a sprayer hold?
The bottle is intended for 10 ml of contents, which is its nominal volume. Physically it holds more; the exact total brimful volume is given in the specifications. The free space above the nominal volume is needed for the sprayer’s dip tube. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the contents will overflow into the thread when the closure is screwed on.
Is a 10 ml glass bottle with a sprayer suitable for perfume containing alcohol?
Yes, glass is resistant to alcohol and does not take on fragrance, which is why the bottle is commonly used for perfumes and eaux de toilette. The sprayer has plastic parts, so for compositions with a high content of alcohol and essential oils we recommend filling a trial bottle and checking the seal and how the sprayer works after a few days.
Can I apply oil with the sprayer on a 10 ml bottle?
The sprayer is designed for thin liquids; thick oils will not pass through the valve or will squirt out as a stream instead of a mist. With very thin oils and oil blends, it depends on the specific viscosity, so we recommend testing how they behave. For oil serums and massage oils, a bottle with a dropper or pump is a better fit.
Can a 10 ml glass bottle with a sprayer be reused?
Yes, the set is designed for repeated refilling. Before each reuse, wash the bottle, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry. Rinse the sprayer with ethanol and press it a few times while empty. After perfume, the closure may retain the original fragrance for some time, so a new sprayer is a better choice when you change the contents.
Is the 10 ml glass bottle and sprayer set suitable for food?
No, the set is not approved for contact with food. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for use with cosmetic products, and that is what the set is intended for. For edible oils, syrups or herbal infusions, choose packaging whose specifications state certification for food contact.
