Yes, the packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are followed. Before each new filling it is necessary to thoroughly clean the bottle and the spray pump and then disinfect them – we recommend using a suitable alcoholic agent, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. For disinfection you can use products available on Handymade, such as IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow all parts to dry thoroughly and only then refill the packaging.

Which types of products are most suitable for this spray packaging?

The bottle with spray pump is ideal for liquid products with low to medium viscosity that need to be applied as a fine mist. Typically, these are facial and body waters, hydrolats, hair tonics, facial refreshers, home and textile sprays or light cleaning solutions. How should I properly clean and disinfect the bottle and spray pump before further use?

First completely empty the packaging and disassemble it into individual parts (bottle body, spray pump, cap). Rinse product residues with lukewarm water and a suitable detergent and then rinse all parts with clean water. After mechanical cleaning we recommend disinfection with alcohol – you can spray or rinse the packaging and the spray pump with an alcoholic solution, for example with the products IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96 % denatured plant-based. Then allow everything to air dry at room temperature and only refill the packaging after it has completely dried.

How can I safely dispose of or recycle this packaging if I do not want to use it further?

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend sorting it correctly according to the material specified in the product parameter table on Handymade. The bottle body and the spray pump must be emptied as much as possible and freed from residual contents. Then dispose of the individual parts in the appropriate separated waste according to the type of plastic specified in the product parameters.
