Product description
Plastic bottle with pump, 10 ml is a small pack for serums, facial oils, fluids and other liquid to slightly thick preparations that you want to apply in small, consistent doses. The PET medicine bottle is lightweight, does not break if dropped, and through the clear wall you can see how much content is left. The pump in a glossy black and gold finish with a smoky overcap gives the pack the look of a finished product. It is therefore suitable for customer samples, travel packs and small-batch products.
The set consists of a medicine bottle and a pump with a dip tube, both with the same neck type. The contents reach the pump head through the tube from the bottom, so the bottle is used upright and nothing has to be poured out or dripped. The smoky overcap protects the pump opening from dust and from being pressed accidentally in a bag.
What the set is suitable for
- Facial serums and fluids – low viscosity passes through the tube without problems and is dispensed without fingers touching the content.
- Facial and hair oils – the pump measures more precisely than a dropper and the oil does not spread over the walls of the bottle.
- Oil-based and alcohol-based preparations for spot use – the small volume corresponds to the amount that is used up before the content evaporates.
- Samples and travel packs – 10 ml is enough for several weeks of serum use and the pack fits into a cosmetic bag.
Thick creams, butters or preparations with scrub particles do not belong in this set. Thick formulations will not pass through the tube and particles will block the pump valve. For these, choose a jar or a wider bottle with a cap.
Dispensing and filling
One press delivers approximately 0.14 ml, which for a full 10 ml fill corresponds to roughly 70 doses. For serums and oils, this is the amount for one application to the face or the eye area.
After the pump is fitted, it needs several presses to prime before the tube fills and the product starts to come out. Let your customer know on the label or in the instructions, otherwise they may consider the pack faulty.
The pump tube is longer than the 10 ml bottle. Before fitting, shorten it with a diagonal cut so that it ends just above the bottom. A tube that is too short leaves an unused residue at the bottom, while a tube that is too long bends and suction stops working.
Fill only once the product has cooled. The bottle is intended for storage at temperatures up to 30 °C and must be protected from heat, so do not pour hot emulsion or oil into it. Do not fill to the brim, as the tube and the pump valve need space when screwing on.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling. Physically, more fits into it up to the neck, but this space is a reserve for the pump tube, the air above the surface and the expansion of the content with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the content overflows through the thread when the pump is screwed on.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the pump, disinfect them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. Rinse the pump with disinfectant on the inside as well by pressing it several times, and then let it air out so that alcohol residues do not get into the product.
Clear PET does not protect the content from light. Store vegetable oils sensitive to oxidation, serums with vitamin C or preparations with dyes in the dark or in a box. For longer storage of light-sensitive ingredients, choose dark glass or opaque packaging.
Material and content. Do not expose PET to aggressive chemicals. With a high proportion of essential oils, pure solvents or other aggressive substances, we recommend a test first: fill one bottle, let it stand for several weeks and watch for clouding, softening of the wall or a change of fragrance. Carry out the same test with the pump.
Contact with cosmetics and food. The bottle has a separate declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetic products and a certificate for direct contact with food. The pump is supplied in cosmetic grade and has no declaration for contact with food. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics, so do not use it for food.
Repeated filling is possible, but after oil or a sticky serum the pump can only be cleaned partially. When changing the content, rinse it with warm water and washing-up liquid, then with disinfectant, and if it dispenses unevenly, replace it with a new one.
Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. If you combine a bottle and a closure yourself, we recommend verifying the tightness and dispensing with your specific formulation.
At the end of its life, the bottle belongs in plastics recycling as PET. The pump combines polypropylene and aluminium, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
