Amber Plastic Bottle, Glossy Golden Black Pump with Smoky Overcap, 100 ml

The amber plastic medicine bottle with a capacity of 100 ml and a screw-on black and gold pump is packaging for liquid cosmetics where precise dosing and protection from light matter. The pump dispenses a small amount of product with each press, so it is particularly suitable for serums, face and body oils, fluids and light emulsions that are applied in small doses. The bottle is made of PET, is lightweight and, unlike glass, does not shatter when dropped, which you will appreciate for products intended for travel, the bathroom or sale.

The amber colour of the plastic dampens light and helps slow changes in light-sensitive contents such as vegetable oils, vitamin serums or preparations with essential oils. The pump with a glossy black and gold body and a smoky overcap gives the product the look of a finished shop-bought item. The overcap also protects the pump opening from dust and accidental pressing.

Suitable uses

• Face and body oils – one press measures out only as much oil as is actually used, with no dripping down the neck.
• Serums and fluids – thinner leave-on preparations with active ingredients, where a precise dose saves product and keeps things hygienic.
• Light emulsions and milks – if the formulation is fluid enough to pass through the tube and nozzle of the pump.
• Hair oils and serums for the ends – small doses prevent weighing the hair down.
• Samples and travel sizes – the 100 ml volume and unbreakable material suit smaller batches as well as products the customer carries around.

How the set works

The pump screws onto the bottle and the tube dips into the contents. Before first use, press the pump several times until the tube fills and the product starts to come out. One press dispenses approximately 0.14 ml, which corresponds to a few drops of oil or serum.

The pump is intended for liquids and fluid emulsions. With thicker creams, gel serums with high viscosity or products containing particles (scrubs, preparations with crushed herbs), the tube or nozzle may become clogged. We therefore recommend testing how your specific formulation behaves in the pump on a trial sample before you fill an entire batch.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the amount of product the packaging is intended for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always slightly larger. The difference is a reserve for the closure or pump and for the expansion of the contents. When making cosmetics, you therefore fill up to the nominal volume and state it on the finished product as well.

Good to know

Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the pump, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. Any remaining moisture in the tube would get into an anhydrous oil or serum.

PET resists common cosmetic raw materials, vegetable oils and aqueous solutions. With concentrated essential oils, alcohol solutions and solvents, we recommend testing how the material behaves on a trial sample. The same applies to the seal and nozzle of the pump. Hot contents do not belong in the bottle; emulsions and oils are filled once they have cooled.

The bottle has a declaration of suitability for contact with cosmetics as well as for direct contact with food. The pump is supplied in cosmetic grade and a separate declaration of suitability for food contact is not available for it.

If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and dispensing with your specific formulation. Before transporting finished products, test whether the pump leaks contents when shaken, and if necessary tape over the opening or wrap it in film.

Once emptied and rinsed, the PET bottle is recyclable in plastic waste. The pump combines plastic and aluminium; before sorting, unscrew it and dispose of it separately. After thorough washing and disinfection, the bottle can be reused. For the pump, it depends on whether the tube and mechanism can be rinsed out well from the previous contents.
