Gloss Black Glass Bottle, White Lotion Pump, 15 ml

The 15 ml glass bottle with a white lotion pump is a ready-made set for small packs of cosmetics that are dispensed in small amounts: eye creams, serums, thicker facial emulsions or concentrates with active ingredients. The black glossy glass is opaque and protects the contents from light. The pump releases roughly the same amount with each press, so the cream is not scooped out with fingers from an open neck.

The bottle has a medicine bottle shape with an 18 mm neck and the pump is part of the set, so you do not need to choose a closure or check thread compatibility. Replacement pumps and other closures with the same neck type, as well as other ready-made combinations, are available separately in our range. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

What the set is suitable for

• Eye creams and eye contour creams – the small volume matches the amount that is used up in a short time, and the pump delivers a small, repeatable dose with each press.
• Serums and concentrates – products with light-sensitive active ingredients, for example vitamin C, retinol or some plant extracts, are protected in opaque glass and the contents do not come into contact with fingers.
• Face creams and emulsions – the pump is designed for cream consistencies, from lighter lotions to thicker creams and O/W emulsions. It does not dispense solid balms or anhydrous ointments with a high wax content.
• Samples and travel packs – 15 ml is enough to test a formulation with a customer or as a smaller version of a larger product.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 15 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume, given in the parameters, is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck and is higher. Part of this space is taken up by the tube and body of the pump once it is screwed on. The bottle is therefore filled up to the nominal volume. If it is filled to the brim, part of the cream is pushed out through the neck as soon as the pump is fitted.

How the pump works

The pump draws the cream up through the tube from the bottom of the bottle and releases approximately 0.14 ml with one press. Before first use, the head is pressed several times without product until the tube fills and the cream starts to come out.

Good to know

Before first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. It is enough to rinse the pump with clean water or alcohol and also let it dry, as water trapped in the tube would dilute the first doses. The emulsion is filled after it has cooled, in the final consistency in which the pump will work.

Black glass hides the contents. You cannot see the level or any changes in the appearance of the cream from outside, so when developing a formulation it is worth keeping a control sample in a clear container as well. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking how the plastic parts of the pump behave with your specific formulation.

The glass bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. The inside of the pump is harder to clean, so when you change the formulation or after longer use it is better to fit a new one. For recycling, the glass and the plastic pump are separated and sorted by material.
