Product description
This glass bottle with dropper set, with a nominal volume of 10 ml, is used for storing and dispensing liquid preparations drop by drop. The opaque white glass limits the amount of light reaching the contents, so the bottle is particularly suitable for serums, facial oils and essential oil blends, which are damaged by light over time. The white and gold dropper matches the bottle in colour, giving the set a uniform look.
The small volume suits concentrated preparations, of which only a few drops are taken per use. It also works well for samples, test batches of a new recipe or travel packs. Both the bottle and the dropper are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; you will find the declaration of conformity with the product.
What it is suitable for
- Facial and eye serums – both water-based and oil-based, where accurate measuring of a small amount matters.
- Facial oils and oil concentrates – glass does not react with oils, and the opaque design slows down their oxidation caused by light.
- Essential oil blends and fragrance compositions – the dropper lets you dispense one drop at a time into a diffuser, a massage oil or a finished recipe.
- Nail, eyebrow and beard oils – preparations that are applied to a specific spot.
- Tinctures and alcohol-based solutions – glass is resistant to ethanol and does not release any substances into the contents.
The dropper is intended for thin to medium-viscosity contents. Thicker preparations are drawn into it slowly and the drop does not form evenly, so a different type of closure is more suitable for them.
Dropper and dispensing
The length of the dropper is matched to the height of the bottle. The glass tube reaches almost to the bottom, so the contents can be taken out with almost no residue. The dropper combines glass, aluminium, plastic and silicone, but it is mainly the glass tube that comes into contact with the contents. This is an advantage with both oils and alcohol-based solutions. With concentrated essential oils and preparations containing solvents, we recommend checking how the dropper behaves with your specific formulation before you fill a larger batch.
Leave the filled set standing upside down for several days and check it for leaks. Repeat the test with every new recipe, especially if it contains a higher proportion of alcohol or essential oils.
Volume and filling
The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them is a reserve for the dropper, which pushes part of the contents upwards when inserted, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill only up to the nominal volume.
Do not fill the bottle to the brim. After the dropper is fitted, the contents would get into the thread, the closure would not seal and part of the preparation would be lost.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse and dry the dropper so that no water is left in the tube, as it could dilute the contents or encourage the growth of microorganisms.
- Reuse – the glass withstands repeated washing and disinfection. After washing, check that the bulb of the dropper keeps its shape and sits firmly in the collar.
- Glass and heat – do not pour hot mixtures into the bottle. A sudden change in temperature can damage the glass.
- Closures with the same neck – both the dropper and the bottle have an 18/410 neck finish. You will find other closures with this type of neck and ready-made combinations in the Handymade range.
- Recycling – the bottle goes into glass recycling. The dropper consists of several materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.
