Before the first filling, we recommend mechanically cleaning the entire packaging (rinsing with suitable water or a solution according to the nature of the product) and then disinfecting it. For disinfecting the inner glass surface and the parts of the spray pump, it is appropriate to use alcohol-based disinfectants, for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, which you allow to ventilate completely after application. Following these steps helps to minimize the risk of microbial contamination of the prepared product.

The bottle and the spray pump can be used repeatedly, provided that basic hygiene principles are observed and the dosing mechanism is in good technical condition. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the packaging thoroughly and then disinfect it with a suitable alcohol-based product, for example with isopropyl alcohol (IPA 99% – isopropyl alcohol) or plant-based denatured ethanol (Ethanol 96% denatured, plant-based). After disinfection, allow all parts to dry and ventilate thoroughly, and only then refill the packaging.

For even dosing, it is appropriate to fill the bottle with liquids of suitable viscosity, without large solid particles or undissolved components that could clog the nozzle. After use, especially with formulations with a higher proportion of oils or plant extracts, it is practical to occasionally spray the pump through with clean alcohol or water to remove product residues. Do not overfill the bottle to the top – the headspace left above the liquid level improves the pump’s performance and pressure stability during spraying.

Even though dark glass naturally limits light penetration, it is recommended to store the bottle in a dry, cooler place away from direct sunlight and heat sources. A more stable temperature and lower humidity help to maintain the quality of the contents as well as the elastomers in the spray mechanism. For long-term storage, check the functionality of the spray pump before reuse and, if necessary, rinse it with a suitable solution.

If you decide not to reuse the packaging, it is recommended to recycle it according to the material types specified in the product parameters. The glass part should, after emptying and basic rinsing, be placed in a container designated for glass, or handed over at a collection yard in accordance with local rules. The plastic spray pump, which may consist of several types of plastics and metal springs, usually needs to be sorted separately according to local regulations or handed over as a mixed plastic component at a collection yard. Always remove product residues before handing over and follow the recommendations of your local separate collection system.
