Product description

The blue glass bottle with a capacity of 10 ml and a black fine mist sprayer is used for dispensing a small amount of liquid cosmetics as a fine mist. Blue glass limits light exposure, so it suits contents that are sensitive to light: hydrolates, facial toners, alcohol-based perfume waters or refreshing sprays. The 10 ml size is enough for a travel pack, a fragrance tester or a sample that customers can try before buying a larger pack.

Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The sprayer fits onto the neck of the bottle and is supplied as a ready-made combination with a black top and a tube that draws the contents from the bottom of the bottle.

What it is suitable for

  • Hydrolates and facial toners – the sprayer disperses watery contents into an even mist, which is applied to the skin without touching it with your hands.
  • Perfume waters and alcohol solutions – alcohol is thin and passes easily through the sprayer. The small bottle suits fragrance samples or a travel pack.
  • Samples and testers – with 10 ml the customer receives an amount that is enough to try the product, without the cost of the full pack.
  • Refreshing hand and body sprays – thin water-based or alcohol-based blends that are used in small doses.

How the set dispenses

The sprayer works mechanically. When the head is pressed, the contents are drawn up through the tube and dispersed at the outlet. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml. The actual dose depends on the contents and on how thoroughly the sprayer has been primed after filling. The first presses fill the tube and the mechanism, and only then does the dose settle.

The best contents to dispense through the sprayer are thin, watery and alcohol-based ones. Oil serums and thicker liquids pass through it with difficulty, forming a stream instead of a mist or clogging the mechanism. For oil contents, choose a bottle with a dropper.

Nominal volume and brimful capacity

The nominal volume of 10 ml states how much content the bottle is intended for with normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them forms a reserve for the sprayer tube, which takes up part of the space, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle is overfilled, the contents leak through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on and the bottle does not seal properly.

If the sprayer tube extends below the bottom of the bottle, shorten it with a sharp knife using a slanted cut so that it ends just above the bottom. The slanted cut prevents the tube from lying flat against the bottom and ceasing to draw the contents.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with alcohol and pump it dry several times so that any water is expelled from the mechanism. Let hot blends cool before filling, as thin glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes.

The sprayer is made of polypropylene. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, check on a small sample that the plastic parts do not soften and that the mist remains even. Test compatibility with your specific formulation before filling a larger number of pieces.

You can reuse the bottle. After it is emptied, wash and disinfect it in the same way as before the first filling. Rinse the sprayer with water or alcohol, pump it dry and leave it to air-dry. Residues of the old fragrance in the tube can affect the scent of the new contents. When you change the fragrance composition, a new sprayer is therefore more suitable.

For recycling, unscrew the sprayer: the glass belongs with glass and the plastic sprayer with plastics.

The set is intended for cosmetic products. It is not approved for contact with food, so it is not suitable for edible oils, syrups or other food contents.

Frequently asked questions

Does the blue glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Blue glass limits the access of light to the contents, but it does not provide complete darkness. Contents sensitive to light, for example hydrolates or perfume waters with natural essential oils, should therefore be stored away from direct sun even in a blue bottle. Compared with clear glass, blue glass gives the contents better conditions during normal use on a shelf or in a bag.
How much content fits into a 10 ml bottle with a sprayer?
The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 10 ml, not to the brim. The total volume up to the neck is larger and you will find it in the parameters, but the difference forms a reserve for the sprayer tube and for the expansion of the contents. If you overfill the bottle, part of the contents is pushed out through the neck when the sprayer is screwed on and the closure does not seal properly.
Can oil or an oil serum be dispensed through the sprayer?
The sprayer is not suitable for oils or thicker liquids. The mechanism is designed for thin contents such as hydrolates, toners or alcohol solutions, which it disperses into a mist. Oil passes through the nozzle with difficulty, comes out as a stream or clogs it. For oil serums and massage oils in a small pack, choose a bottle with a dropper.
How do I prepare a glass bottle with a sprayer before the first filling?
Wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with alcohol and pump it dry so that no liquid remains in the tube. If the tube extends below the bottom of the bottle, shorten it with a slanted cut. After filling, press the sprayer several times until an even mist starts to come out.
Is the set suitable for hydrolates and alcohol-based perfume waters?
Yes, both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics, and thin water-based and alcohol-based contents pass well through the sprayer. For perfume waters with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend checking on one bottle that the plastic parts of the sprayer remain unchanged and that the mist is even.
