The plastic spray bottle is a ready-made combination of a clear PET bottle with a 50 ml capacity and a black sprayer, suitable for liquid cosmetic preparations dispensed by spraying. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. The bottle also holds a separate food-contact certification on its own; the sprayer does not have such an assessment, so the assembled set is not used for food purposes. A declaration of conformity is available with the product.

What preparations is the set suitable for

The sprayer works reliably with thin, watery liquids. It performs best with hydrolats, facial and hair tonics, refreshing mists, alcoholic perfume waters, hand sanitising solutions or sprays for surfaces and equipment. It is also suitable for water-based preparations with a low content of solubilised essential oils, such as room sprays or fabric sprays.

Thicker contents such as oils, oil serums, gel tonics or emulsions are difficult to dispense with a sprayer and the mechanism may become clogged. For such products a container with a pump, dropper or disc cap is more suitable.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume for which the container is intended for normal filling. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the sprayer tube and for possible expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim; once the sprayer is screwed on, the contents do not leak and the liquid level does not reach the thread.

What to know before filling

Before first use, we recommend washing and sanitising the bottle and sprayer with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving them to dry completely. After screwing on the sprayer, press the mechanism several times on empty until the tube fills and the stream settles. When refilling, it is recommended to rinse the tube and nozzle with clean water so that residues from the previous content do not clog the sprayer or alter the scent of the new product.

PET tolerates water-based and common alcohol solutions well. With contents containing a high proportion of essential oils, citrus terpenes or solvents, it is advisable to check the material behaviour in the finished formulation or opt for a glass bottle instead. Do not expose the bottle to high temperatures; hot filling is not suitable for PET.

Clear plastic does not provide light protection. Preparations sensitive to light, such as those containing vitamin C, retinol or essential oils, are better filled into a darker container or stored away from direct sunlight.

Both the PET bottle and the PP sprayer are recyclable plastics; before disposal, we recommend unscrewing the sprayer and depositing both parts separately according to material type.
