Product description

The white plastic bottle with a black sprayer is a ready-made complete packaging and closure set for small volumes of liquid preparations applied by spraying. The sprayer with a black top disperses the contents into a fine mist, allowing the preparation to be applied evenly and without hand contact. The white opaque PET bottle limits light exposure to the contents, is lightweight, and will not break if dropped, which is particularly appreciated in travel and sample packaging.

With a nominal volume of 10 ml, the set is intended primarily for samples, testers, travel packaging, and small gift sets. It is suitable for facial and hair mists, tonics, hydrosols, eau de parfum, and disinfectant sprays in small packaging. The set as a whole is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics.

What the set is suitable for

  • Facial mists and tonics – water-based and hydrosol preparations with low viscosity spray evenly and do not run down the skin.
  • Eau de parfum and alcohol-based sprays – the small volume is practical for fragrance samples, travel packaging, or testing a new composition before larger-scale production.
  • Hair sprays and refreshers – light water-based or water-alcohol textures applied in a thin layer over a larger area.
  • Samples and testers – the white bottle unifies the appearance of an entire sample series, and the opaque material conceals minor colour differences between batches.
  • Disinfectant and hygiene sprays – for hands or small objects where dispensing without contact with the contents is desirable.

How the set works

The sprayer screws onto the bottle neck with an 18/415 thread. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml of preparation, so the contents are used economically and applied evenly. The sprayer's dip tube is longer than the inner height of the bottle. It must therefore be trimmed before fitting so that it ends just above the bottom; otherwise the closure cannot be tightened and pumping will not work correctly.

The mechanism is designed for liquids with a consistency close to water. Thick serums, gels, and emulsions will not be dispersed into a mist; the preparation catches in the nozzle and dispensing is uneven. Light, low-viscosity oils can only be sprayed to a limited extent; the mist is coarser and the nozzle clogs more quickly.

Trim the dip tube with a sharp knife using a straight cut, not scissors, which would compress it and narrow the bore. A correctly trimmed tube reaches just above the bottom of the bottle.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is designed under standard filling conditions. Total volume up to the rim of the neck is larger, as it also includes the space occupied by the dip tube and sprayer body once screwed in, and the margin for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim. If overfilled, the contents will overflow through the neck when the sprayer is fitted, and part of the preparation will be lost.

Good to know

  • Preparation before first filling – rinse both the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, and allow to dry completely. Residual water will dilute the preparation and may reduce the effectiveness of the preservative.
  • Material and contents – PET handles water-based preparations, hydrosols, and common alcohol solutions well. Undiluted essential oils, fragrance compositions at high concentrations, and aggressive solvents may cloud or deform the plastic over time; for such contents, we recommend testing the behaviour of the packaging on a single unit first.
  • Leak-tightness and transport – before travelling, test the leak-tightness of the filled set placed on its side, and pack it in a resealable bag for the journey.
  • Food contact – the bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact. The sprayer does not have such an assessment; therefore the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic and technical preparations, not for food.
  • Labelling – the cylindrical shape of the bottle allows a narrow wrap-around label to be applied.
  • Reuse – the set can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. Flush the sprayer by pumping clean water through it and then ethanol, to prevent residue from the previous preparation settling in the nozzle. When changing fragrance or active ingredient, use a new sprayer; residues are difficult to remove from the mechanism.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET, the sprayer of PP. Before disposal, separate the two parts and sort them according to the material code.

Preparations containing thickeners, solid particles, or undiluted oils are not suitable for this sprayer. They will clog the nozzle and dispensing will stop working. With your own formulation, first verify that the preparation sprays into a mist and does not drip from the nozzle.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 10 ml plastic bottle with sprayer suitable for eau de parfum?
Yes, the set is suitable for eau de parfum and alcohol-based sprays in small packaging. PET handles standard concentrations of ethanol in perfumed waters well, and the sprayer disperses the alcohol-based solution into a fine mist. For compositions with a very high proportion of fragrance materials, we recommend testing on a single unit to check whether the plastic will cloud over time.
Can oil be sprayed from the 10 ml plastic bottle with sprayer?
Only to a limited extent. The sprayer is designed for liquids with a consistency close to water, so very light oils spray as a coarser mist and the nozzle clogs more quickly. Thicker oils, serums, and emulsions will not disperse into a mist and dispensing is uneven. For oil-based preparations, a bottle with a dropper or a dispensing pump is more suitable.
Does the white 10 ml PET bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the white bottle is opaque and significantly limits light exposure to the contents, which helps protect light-sensitive preparations such as hydrosols, vitamin-containing tonics, or eau de parfum. The opacity also has a practical drawback: you cannot see how much contents remains, so it is recommended to indicate the volume on the label for samples.
Why does the dip tube of the 18/415 sprayer have to be trimmed?
The tube is longer than the height of the bottle so that the sprayer can be used on containers of various heights. Before fitting, trim it with a straight cut so that it ends just above the bottom. If it is left too long, the closure cannot be tightened, the tube bends inside the bottle, and pumping the preparation becomes unreliable.
Is the 10 ml plastic bottle with sprayer set approved for food contact?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for food contact. The bottle alone holds a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not have such an assessment. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic and technical preparations.
