Product description

A brown plastic bottle with a black sprayer is a ready-made cosmetic spray set with a nominal volume of 100 ml. The bottle and sprayer form a matched pair, so you do not need to search for a cap that fits the bottle. The set is designed for liquid preparations applied by dispersal onto skin, hair, or surfaces: facial and body mists, tonics, hydrolats, hair sprays, and alcohol-based disinfectant solutions.

The bottle is made of PET in a brown shade. The darker plastic reduces light transmission and helps protect light-sensitive contents — such as hydrolats, tonics with plant extracts, or blends with solubilised essential oils — from faster changes in scent and colour. The PP sprayer with a black top disperses the liquid into a fine mist, allowing the preparation to be applied evenly and economically.

What the set offers

  • Protection of contents from light – brown PET transmits less light than clear plastic, which slows colour fading and scent change in water-based preparations with plant ingredients. It does not replace preservation, however — aqueous contents must be preserved as in any other packaging.
  • Lightweight and unbreakable packaging – a plastic bottle weighs a fraction of a glass one and can withstand a drop on the floor. It is therefore suitable for travel packaging, a sports bag, the bathroom, and the work table during production where glass would be a hazard.
  • Fine mist in a small dose – the sprayer disperses the liquid into tiny droplets, so the preparation is applied evenly, without dripping and without unnecessary waste. The volume of a single dose is listed in the product parameters.
  • Matched neck and closure – both parts of the set share the same thread type, so the sprayer fits without testing and without risk of leaking.
  • Declared suitability for cosmetics – both the bottle and sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity is available with the product.

Which preparations it is suitable for

The sprayer works reliably with low-viscosity liquids — that is, with contents approximately as fluid as water or dilute alcohol. Typical uses of the set:

  • Facial and body mists – hydrolats, tonics, refreshing sprays with glycerin, aloe, or solubilised essential oils at a low concentration.
  • Hair sprays – thin leave-in conditioners, mists with hydrolat and hydrolysed proteins, hair styling solutions without thickeners.
  • Disinfectant and cleaning solutions – hand, surface, and tool sprays based on ethanol or isopropyl alcohol.
  • Light body sprays – alcohol-water solutions with a low concentration of fragrance composition.

The sprayer is not intended for thick or oily contents. Serums thickened with gums, emulsions, lotions, and pure oils will either not be dispersed and will squirt as a stream, or will clog after a few uses. For such preparations, choose a bottle with a pump or dropper instead.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling, and it is this figure that appears on the label of the finished product. The total volume to the brim is larger — it is the physical capacity up to the neck. The difference between them is formed by the headspace for the sprayer, whose dip tube and lower section take up space inside the bottle, and by allowance for expansion of the contents with temperature change. The nominal volume is listed in the packaging parameters.

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. When filled right up to the neck, the contents overflow when the sprayer is screwed on, and part of the preparation remains in the thread, where it can become sticky or dry out.

Preparation before filling and repeated use

Before the first fill, rinse the bottle with clean water, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave it to dry completely with the neck facing down. Flush the sprayer by fitting it onto a bottle of clean water or alcohol and pumping several times, then leave it to dry. When using it for the first time with the finished preparation, several empty pumps are needed before the dip tube and mechanism fill up.

The set is suitable for repeated use. Between refills, always wash and disinfect it; never mix the residue of the old preparation with the new one. With aqueous preparations, the cleanliness of the packaging is just as important as the preservative in the formula, because residual water in the dip tube is a breeding ground for micro-organisms.

Good to know

  • PET and heat – do not fill the bottle with hot contents; allow the preparation to cool to room temperature. PET may deform at higher temperatures and lose the seal at the neck.
  • Essential oils and fragrance compositions – in finished water- or alcohol-based preparations at a low percentage, they are standard in PET. Pure essential oils, concentrated fragrance compositions, and solvents such as acetone or limonene, however, attack the plastic and do not belong in this bottle.
  • Contact with food – the food-contact certificate applies to the bottle alone. The sprayer does not hold such a certificate, so the set as a whole is not intended for food use — for example, oil or vinegar in a spray. The set is intended for cosmetics.
  • Different closure – if you need to close the bottle differently, caps with the same thread type as listed in the parameters, as well as ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
  • Trial fill – before larger-scale production, fill one set and monitor it for several days for seal integrity, dosage, any change in odour, or colour change. Every formula interacts with packaging differently.
  • Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of PP; separate them before disposal, as both materials are recycled individually.

Frequently asked questions

Is the brown PET bottle with sprayer suitable for hydrolat?
Yes, hydrolat is one of the most suitable contents for this set. It is a low-viscosity aqueous liquid that the sprayer disperses into a fine mist, and the brown plastic protects it from light, which accelerates changes in scent. A hydrolat with no preservative of its own must be preserved even in this packaging, and filled into a clean, disinfected container.
Can oil be sprayed through this sprayer?
No, the sprayer will not disperse pure vegetable oils evenly. Oil is too viscous — the mechanism will either squirt it as a stream or clog and stop dispensing. For oil serums and body oils, we recommend a bottle with a pump or dropper. The sprayer can handle only thin water- or alcohol-based preparations with oil solubilised at a low percentage.
Can I pour food-grade oil or vinegar into the spray bottle?
No, the set as a whole is not declared for contact with food. The food-contact certificate applies to the brown PET bottle alone; the sprayer does not hold such a certificate, so the set is not suitable for food use. It is intended for cosmetic and technical preparations — for example, facial mists, hair sprays, or disinfectant solutions.
Can the PET bottle withstand ethanol and disinfectant solutions?
Yes, both PET and PP routinely withstand ethanol and isopropyl alcohol at the concentrations found in disinfectant preparations. The set is therefore suitable for hand, surface, and tool sprays. Be cautious with other solvents, however: acetone, limonene, or concentrated fragrance compositions attack the plastic and can cause clouding of the wall or leakage.
How do I clean the sprayer before the next use?
Fit the sprayer onto a bottle of clean water and pump it through several times, then do the same with alcohol or isopropyl alcohol and leave the mechanism to dry. Rinse the bottle, disinfect it, and leave it to dry with the neck facing down. Never mix the residue of the old preparation with the new one, especially with aqueous contents, where even a small residue in the dip tube can trigger microbial spoilage.
