Product description

Amber plastic bottle with a fine mist sprayer for 100 ml of product, assembled as a ready-made set for spray cosmetics. The bottle is made of PET, so it is lightweight and does not break if dropped in the bathroom or in a bag. The amber tint limits the amount of light reaching the contents. The black fine mist sprayer with an 18/415 neck finish fits the neck of the bottle precisely, and the smoky overcap protects the head from dust and accidental pressing.

The set is suitable for thin, watery formulations applied by spraying: facial toners, hydrosols, refreshing and hair sprays, deodorant sprays and alcohol-based skin tinctures. The slim body of the medicine bottle is comfortable to hold and stands stably on a shelf.

What it is suitable for

  • Toners and hydrosols – a fine mist moistens the skin evenly without the product running down the face.
  • Hair sprays and leave-in conditioners – thin water-based or water-alcohol blends are applied directly to the hair and scalp.
  • Deodorant sprays – water-based or alcohol-based formulations without thickeners, which the sprayer pushes through without problems.
  • Herbal and alcohol-based sprays – tinctures and infusions for the skin, whose colour is better preserved in an amber bottle.

How the set works

The sprayer draws the contents up through a dip tube and, when the head is pressed, releases approximately 0.12 ml of product as a fine mist. The dose is constant, so it is easy to estimate consumption per use with toners or deodorants. The smoky overcap fits over the head and prevents accidental spraying during transport.

The amber colour of the bottle serves the same purpose as amber glass. It reduces the light that accelerates the oxidation of essential oils, the degradation of plant extracts and the fading of natural dyes. It is therefore more suitable than a clear container for contents with sensitive ingredients, although it does not provide complete protection from light either.

The sprayer works best with formulations whose viscosity is close to that of water. Thicker products, emulsions or oils may clog the nozzle or come out as a stream instead of a mist. We therefore recommend testing the behaviour on a small sample before filling a whole batch.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the volume the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck and is usually slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dip tube and the sprayer head and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on.

Good to know

Before the first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and the sprayer, disinfecting them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and letting them dry completely. Before disinfecting, press the sprayer several times in water to rinse the dip tube and the nozzle. Residual water in the bottle dilutes the product and puts unnecessary strain on the preservative system.

PET tolerates water-based and water-alcohol products well. With a high proportion of essential oils or with formulations containing solvents, check beforehand whether the container changes in appearance, becomes deformed or absorbs the scent after several weeks. The bottle is not suitable for filling with hot contents.

Only the bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact. The sprayer is declared for cosmetics, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products, not for homemade syrups, oils or infusions intended for consumption.

After washing, the packaging can be reused. When you finish using the sprayer, rinse it with clean water and pump it several times while empty to remove product residues from the dip tube and the nozzle. The PET bottle and the polypropylene sprayer belong in plastic waste; separate them when sorting.

Closures with the same neck finish and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations can be found in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber plastic bottle with a sprayer protect the contents from light?
Yes, the amber tint of the PET bottle limits the amount of light reaching the contents, similarly to amber glass. It slows down the oxidation of essential oils and the degradation of plant extracts in toners or hydrosols. It does not provide complete protection, so store the filled container away from direct sunlight, and with sensitive ingredients keep in mind that light is only one of the factors affecting the shelf life of the product.
Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for oil serums?
This sprayer is not suitable for oil serums, as it is designed for thin, watery liquids. It may spray light oils, but thicker oils and oil serums come out as a stream or clog the nozzle. A bottle with a dropper or a pump is more suitable for oil-based products. The sprayer works well with toners, hydrosols and alcohol-based sprays.
Can the plastic bottle with a sprayer be filled with alcohol-based products?
Yes, a PET bottle with a polypropylene sprayer is commonly used for water-alcohol toners, deodorants and herbal sprays. With a high alcohol concentration combined with a larger proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing on a sample whether the container becomes deformed or absorbs the scent after several weeks. Always fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim.
How much product does the sprayer release per press?
The sprayer releases approximately 0.12 ml of product per press as a fine mist. With watery formulations the dose is constant, so you can estimate the consumption per use and the number of applications from a full bottle. With thicker products the dose and the shape of the spray change, so we recommend testing with your specific formulation.
Is the plastic bottle with a sprayer also suitable for food?
The set as a whole is not approved for food contact. Only the amber PET bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact, while the sprayer is declared for cosmetics only. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products such as toners, hydrosols, and hair and body sprays, not for homemade syrups or edible oils.
