This amber plastic medicine bottle with a volume of 100 ml, a black and gold fine mist sprayer and a smoky overcap is a complete set ready for filling with liquid cosmetic products applied by spraying. The amber PET filters light and helps protect contents that are sensitive to sunlight, and the bottle is lightweight and does not break when dropped. The set is particularly suitable for facial mists, toners, hydrosols, hair sprays, refreshing waters or thin alcohol-based preparations that you want to apply in small doses over a larger area.

Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. Only the bottle has a separate certificate for direct contact with food; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.

How the set works

The sprayer with an 18/415 neck finish screws directly onto the neck of the medicine bottle, without any inserts or adapters. The dip tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so almost all of the contents can be used up. One press releases a small dose in the form of a mist. The set is therefore suited to products where you want even coverage of the skin or hair rather than wet patches.

The smoky overcap is clear in a dark shade. It protects the nozzle from dust and from accidental pressing in a handbag or travel bag, and it does not cover the gold detail of the sprayer. The black and gold combination with the amber bottle gives the product a uniform look without any further decoration.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The brimful volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is always higher. The difference provides a reserve for the dip tube of the sprayer, which takes up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim, otherwise the contents will overflow when you screw on the sprayer.

Before filling a larger batch, fill one bottle, screw on the sprayer and leave it for a few days. You will check the tightness, the behaviour of the nozzle with your particular formulation and whether the volume reserve is sufficient.

What the set is suitable for and what it is not

The sprayer is designed for thin liquids: aqueous solutions, hydrosols, toners, light alcohol-based preparations, hair sprays without thickeners. The nozzle will not spray gels, emulsions, thick serums or pure oils, or it may become clogged. The oil component must be solubilised into the water phase before spraying, and the result should be tested.

PET is sensitive to aggressive chemicals and high temperatures. Fill the product when cooled, not hot. If the contents have a higher proportion of essential oils, solvents or concentrated alcohol, test the behaviour of the bottle and the sprayer seal beforehand.

Good to know

Preparation and reuse – wash and disinfect the bottle and the sprayer before filling and let them dry thoroughly. After cleaning, the set can be used again; when changing the product, rinse the dip tube and the nozzle so that residues of the old contents do not mix with the new.
Light – the amber shade filters light but does not replace storage in the dark. Keep products with photosensitive ingredients out of direct sunlight.
Other closures – other closures with the same neck type from the Handymade range also fit the bottle. If you make your own combination, check the tightness and the dispensing.
Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the sprayer combines PP and aluminium. Before disposal, unscrew the sprayer from the bottle and sort the materials separately.

Do not use the set for herbal infusions, food sprays or other foods. Only the bottle without the sprayer is approved for contact with food.

Is the 100 ml plastic medicine bottle with a sprayer suitable for hydrosols and facial mists?

Yes, hydrosols, toners and facial mists are among the main uses of this set. The sprayer produces a fine mist from thin aqueous liquids, and the amber PET helps protect the contents from light. Aqueous products must be preserved, as the packaging does not replace preservation. Before filling a batch, we recommend testing the dispensing with your particular product.

Can I dispense oil or serum through the sprayer?

No, this sprayer cannot spray pure oils, gels or thicker serums. The nozzle is designed for low-viscosity liquids and with thicker contents it becomes clogged or only drips. For oil-based products, use other closures that fit the same neck type, or solubilise the oil into the water phase and test the spraying.

How much product fits into a 100 ml bottle?

You fill it to the nominal volume of 100 ml, not to the brim. The bottle is physically slightly larger, but this difference provides a reserve for the dip tube of the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. If you fill it up to the neck, the contents leak out once the sprayer is screwed on.

Can the amber PET bottle withstand alcohol-based products?

Common cosmetic products containing alcohol, such as hair sprays or toning waters, are filled into PET bottles. Concentrated alcohol, solvents and a high proportion of essential oils may damage the plastic and the sprayer seal. For such contents, we recommend testing the behaviour of the packaging beforehand on one sample over several days.

Is the bottle with sprayer set suitable for food?

No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the bottle itself has a certificate for direct contact with food; the sprayer does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products, for which the suitability of both components is declared.

How do I prepare the set for reuse?

Unscrew the sprayer, rinse the bottle and the dip tube with water and then disinfect them. Let all parts dry completely and pump clean water through the nozzle to remove residues of the old contents. We recommend the same procedure before the first filling with facial and hair products.
