Amber Plastic Bottle, Black Lotion Pump with Smoky Overcap, 100 ml

A ready-made packaging set for cosmetic preparations dispensed by pressing: facial and body creams, moisturising lotions, thicker serums, gel creams or light massage emulsions. It consists of a brown plastic bottle in the shape of a medicine bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml and a black cream dispenser with a transparent smoke-coloured cap.

The brown colouring of the bottle reduces light exposure to the contents, which is particularly appreciated in formulations containing vegetable oils, vitamins, extracts or essential oils that lose their effect and scent more quickly in light. PET is lightweight and shatterproof, so the bottle is suitable for travel, the bathroom and postal sales. The dispenser seals the contents from air and fingers, thus helping to maintain the hygiene of the preparation throughout its use.

Why choose this set

• Hygienic dispensing – the contents are released from the bottle only by pressing the dispenser, so the user does not touch the remaining preparation with their fingers. This is particularly advantageous for emulsions with milder preservation.
• Light protection – brown plastic reduces the effect of light on sensitive ingredients, but does not replace preservation or antioxidants in the formulation.
• Small, repeatable dose – the dispenser releases a fraction of a millilitre per press, which is appropriate for serums and facial creams where only a small amount is applied. The exact dose per press is stated in the parameters.

Suitable for products such as

The dispenser is designed for creams and emulsions of medium viscosity. It works well with facial creams, body lotions, moisturising gels, emulsion serums, BB creams and light massage emulsions. With very thin liquids (tonics, hydrolats) the contents drip easily from the dispenser and a spray or dropper closure is more suitable. With thick butters and balms that do not flow at room temperature, the dispenser will not draw up the contents and a jar is more appropriate. The set can be used with anhydrous oil serums, but we recommend testing the dispenser behaviour on a sample.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the bottle is intended for standard filling, and corresponds to the quantity stated on the label. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dispenser tube, for air above the liquid and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim – an overfilled bottle will overflow when the dispenser is screwed on, or the contents will be pushed out around the thread when pressed.

Good to know

Preparation before filling. Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and dispenser, disinfecting with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leaving to dry completely. Moisture inside the packaging could dilute the preservation system of the preparation at the point of contact.

Temperature during filling. PET is not suitable for hot filling. Emulsions should be filled only after cooling to room temperature; otherwise the bottle may deform and as the contents cool, a vacuum forms that draws the walls inward.

Compatibility with contents. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the declaration of conformity and technical documentation are available with the product. The food-contact certificate applies to the bottle alone; the dispenser does not hold this certification, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics, not food. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, solvents or alcohol, we recommend verifying the behaviour of the plastic and the seal of the dispenser on a sample after several weeks.

Emptying the contents. The dispenser tube reaches to the bottom of the bottle, so almost all of the contents can be dispensed. However, very thick creams move slowly through the tube and the dose decreases. In such cases, adjusting the viscosity of the formulation or choosing a larger type of dispenser will help.

Labelling. The cylindrical shape of the bottle allows a wraparound label to be applied.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET, the dispenser of PP. Before disposal, we recommend separating and emptying both parts.

The bottle has a neck with the thread type stated in the parameters, so it can also be combined with other closures of the same neck type from the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and behaviour of the packaging with the specific formulation.
