Frosted glass bottle with pump, 30 ml

This frosted glass bottle with a glossy white and gold pump is a ready-made set for 30 ml of face serum, fluid, face oil or light emulsion. The matte glass hides the contents and shows the level only as a silhouette, so you can see how much product is left. With each press the pump dispenses a metered dose, and the product is taken out without your fingers coming into contact with the contents of the bottle.

Both the bottle and the pump are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is intended for cosmetics, so you can fill it straight away and use it for your own products as well as products for sale, without searching for a separate closure.

The pump and how to use it

The pump combines plastic parts made of PP with aluminium, and the glossy white and gold finish gives the set a uniform look with the matte glass. One press dispenses approximately 0.14 ml, and with serums and fluids you set the amount for one application by the number of presses. With thicker emulsions, the amount for one application is topped up with a second press.

The dip tube draws the contents from the bottom of the bottle. The pump works with liquid and medium-thick products that can be drawn up through the tube. Thick creams, butters and balms will not pass through the pump or will block it, and for such textures a jar or a wider neck is more suitable.

What it is suitable for

• Face serums and fluids – liquid or slightly thickened water-based and emulsion products where an exact dose is an advantage and the contents should come into contact with as little air and as few fingers as possible.
• Face and nail oils – blends of vegetable oils are dispensed without dripping and without pouring. For thick oils, we recommend testing the dispensing first.
• Light creams and face lotions – O/W emulsions with lower viscosity that can be drawn up through the tube.
• Samples and travel sizes – a volume of 30 ml is enough for several weeks of using a face product, and it also suits test batches in which you check how a formulation behaves in the finished packaging.
• Eye and specialised serums – a small dose per press suits products that are applied to only a small area.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume of 30 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity is the physical volume of the glass up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between the two values is a reserve for the tube and the pump mechanism, which take up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle overflows when the pump is fitted, and there is no air above the liquid for pumping.

The bottle has a neck with an 18 mm thread. You will find closures with the same neck type, stated in the parameters, and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations in the Handymade range. If you combine them yourself, we recommend checking the tightness and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

Good to know

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. It is enough to rinse the pump with clean water or alcohol, pump it several times and leave it to dry with the tube pointing down, so that no water remains in the mechanism.

The glass is not intended to be filled with hot contents. Fill emulsions and serums only after they have cooled to room temperature, as a sudden change in temperature can damage the glass. The contents of the bottle are visible only as a silhouette, so with colourless water-based products it is a good idea to check the level by tilting the bottle.

The pump does not draw up the very last remainder at the bottom below the end of the tube, so a small amount of product stays in the bottle. After thorough cleaning and drying, the set can be filled again. The glass belongs in glass recycling, and because it combines plastic and metal, the pump is sorted separately from the bottle.
