Product description

The plastic bottle with a disc top cap is a ready-to-use set for liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetic products dispensed in small amounts directly into the palm. Clear PET lets the product colour show through, is lightweight and shatter-resistant, making it suitable for the bathroom, shower, and travel. The gold disc top cap with a white centre opens with one hand and does not need to be unscrewed with each use.

The set has a nominal volume of 100 ml. Both the bottle and the cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products and come with a declaration of conformity. The set is not approved for food or beverages.

How to work with the set

The disc top opens by pressing one side of the disc, which flips open the dispensing aperture on the opposite side. Contents are dispensed by tilting and gently squeezing the bottle. After use, press the disc back down to close the aperture. The narrow opening makes it easy to measure small doses and limits accidental over-dispensing.

The tall, slender bottle shape sits comfortably in the hand and leaves plenty of surface area for a label. Dimensions required for label design are listed in the product parameters.

Which products is it suited for

  • Shampoos and shower gels – one-handed dispensing is especially practical in the shower.
  • Body lotions and lighter conditioners – thinner emulsions flow through the opening without heavy squeezing.
  • Massage and body oils – the disc top releases only a small amount at a time, so oil does not spill around the neck.
  • Liquid soaps and hand cleansing gels – the transparent wall shows how much product remains.
  • Travel-size packaging – small volume and low weight suit a carry-on toiletry bag.

Very thick creams, butters, and balms are difficult to dispense through the narrow opening. Scrubs with coarser particles may clog it. For such products a jar or packaging with a wider opening is more suitable.

Clear PET does not protect contents from light. Products containing light-sensitive botanical oils, extracts, or natural colorants are best kept out of direct sunlight, or a coloured container should be chosen instead.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended to hold under standard filling conditions. Total brim-full volume is the physical capacity up to the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as headspace for the cap and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle may force product out when closing or when the disc is first opened.

What is worth knowing before filling

Before first filling, it is recommended to wash and sanitise both the bottle and cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow them to dry completely. Residual water in the container unnecessarily burdens the product's preservation system. PET must not be boiled or sterilised with hot water, as heat causes it to soften and deform.

Products prepared hot should be allowed to cool to a temperature only slightly above room temperature before filling. Warmer material may deform the bottle, and condensation forms inside a sealed container as it cools.

PET generally tolerates standard aqueous, surfactant-based, and oil-based cosmetic products well. Caution is warranted with high concentrations of essential oils, concentrated fragrance blends, and solvents, which may gradually attack or cloud the plastic. In such cases we recommend performing a compatibility test with a filled sample. The aluminium surface of the cap should be cleaned with a soft cloth and no abrasive agents to avoid scratching.

Closures with the same neck type (stated in the parameters) and other ready-to-use combinations are available in the Handymade range. With a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour, and compatibility with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Which products is the 100 ml plastic bottle with disc top cap suited for?
It is suited for liquid and medium-viscosity cosmetic products dispensed by squeezing the bottle: shampoos, shower gels, body lotions, liquid soaps, and body oils. The narrow dispensing opening releases a small amount at a time, making it easy to measure a dose into the palm. For thick creams, butters, and scrubs with coarse particles, a jar is more appropriate.
Does the clear PET bottle protect its contents from light?
No, clear PET transmits light and does not protect contents from it. For shampoos, shower gels, and stable emulsions this is generally not a concern. Products containing oils prone to oxidation, botanical extracts, or natural colorants may change colour or scent when exposed to light. Such products should be stored in the dark or a coloured container should be chosen instead.
Can a warm product be filled into a PET bottle?
Hot product should not be filled into a PET bottle, as heat causes the plastic to soften and may deform it. The material should be allowed to cool to a temperature only slightly above room temperature. Cooler filling also reduces condensation under the cap. Products that solidify quickly on cooling are not suitable for this type of container.
Can the bottle with disc top cap be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and cap can be reused after thorough cleaning. Wash the container with warm water and a cleaning agent, rinse the disc aperture through, sanitise everything with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. Hot water and a dishwasher are not suitable — PET deforms under heat. A scratched or clouded bottle is best replaced.
Can the disc top cap on the bottle be replaced with a pump or a sprayer?
Yes, a different closure with the same neck type — stated in the parameters — can be fitted to the bottle. With a pump or sprayer, the length of the dip tube should be checked against the height of the bottle and trimmed if necessary. Before filling a larger batch, we recommend testing the seal and dispensing behaviour with the specific product.
