Product description

A plastic spray bottle with a volume of 100 ml is a ready-to-use set for thin cosmetic sprays: facial mists, tonics, hydrolats, hair and body sprays, as well as fabric and air fresheners. The bottle is made of lightweight and shatterproof PET, making it suitable for the bathroom, handbag, and travel. Through the transparent wall, you can always see the colour and clarity of the contents, as well as how much is left.

The set includes a white mechanical sprayer with a shiny silver collar. A single press disperses a small dose into a fine mist, so the contents are applied evenly and economically. The bottle and sprayer share the same neck type — simply fill and screw on.

What the set is suitable for

Facial mists, tonics and hydrolats – aqueous solutions spray best, and a fine mist is applied without a cotton pad.
Hair sprays and detangling sprays – the tall, narrow bottle shape is easy to grip even when spraying above the head.
Body and home fragrances, fabric fresheners – the small dose per press allows adding fragrance gradually.
Cleaning and alcohol sprays for surfaces – the set also works for home-made household products.

The sprayer is designed for thin liquids with a viscosity close to water. For oils, gels and thick emulsions, a pump or a different closure type is more suitable.

Filling and nominal volume

Nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended for during normal filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical capacity up to the top of the neck and is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the dip tube and the sprayer body, which take up part of the space, and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. Otherwise the contents will overflow through the thread when the sprayer is screwed on.

The sprayer's dip tube is longer than the bottle itself. Before fitting it for the first time, trim it at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom. An angled cut prevents it from suctioning against the bottom, and the bottle can be emptied almost to the last drop.

What is good to know

Preparation before first fill. Wash the bottle, rinse it and disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol. Spray alcohol through the sprayer several times so that the disinfection reaches the mechanism and the dip tube as well. Leave both parts to dry completely before filling.

Temperature during filling. PET is not designed for hot filling. Allow the contents to cool to room temperature before filling.

Sprays with solid particles (pearl, clays, undissolved extracts) or with thickeners may clog the nozzle. Filter the contents before filling and verify the behaviour in the sprayer on a test sample.

Intended use of the packaging. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The set is available in cosmetic and technical quality. It is not approved for contact with food.

Label and closure replacement. The smooth cylindrical wall can accommodate a self-adhesive label around the circumference; bottle dimensions are listed in the specifications. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. For custom combinations, we recommend verifying the seal, dosage and packaging behaviour with the specific formulation.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET and belongs in sorted plastics. The sprayer is composed of several materials, so separate it from the bottle before disposal.

Can oil or gel be sprayed through the sprayer on the plastic bottle?

No, the mechanical sprayer on the plastic bottle is not suitable for oils or gels. Oil comes out as a continuous stream instead of a mist, and a thick gel will not pass through the mechanism at all. A fine mist is only produced from liquids that are as thin as water. For viscous products, a pump with the same neck type is more suitable.

Does the transparent plastic bottle protect the contents from light?

No, the transparent PET bottle lets light through and does not protect the contents from it. Its advantage is that it shows the colour and clarity of the product as well as the remaining quantity. Sprays sensitive to light, for example those containing plant extracts, hydrolats or natural colorants, should be stored in the dark or covered with a label around the full circumference.

Is the PET spray bottle suitable for alcohol sprays and essential oils?

For standard alcohol-based sprays yes, for undiluted essential oils no. The PET spray bottle is intended for aqueous solutions and mixtures with alcohol in which essential oils are dissolved at a low concentration. Concentrated essential oils and strong solvents may degrade the plastic over time. At a high proportion of alcohol or fragrance, we recommend monitoring a test sample for several weeks.

How to clean the spray bottle before reuse?

Simply wash the spray bottle with warm water and a drop of washing-up liquid, rinse it and disinfect with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol. The sprayer is cleaned by flushing: first with warm water, then with alcohol, until clear liquid comes out of the nozzle. Both parts must dry before filling. It is worth refilling with the same type of product, as the mechanism may retain traces of fragrance.
