Glass bottle – medicine bottle with aluminium closure represents a reliable packaging for precise and safe dispensing of various liquid and partially viscous preparations. High-quality glass in combination with a tightly sealing aluminium cap helps protect the contents from external influences and minimizes the risk of contamination or unwanted leakage of the product.
This type of medicine bottle is suitable for packaging smaller doses of concentrated formulas, where not only protection of the composition but also convenient handling during home and semi-serial production is important. This glass bottle – medicine bottle is supplied with an aluminium cap and is at the same time structurally designed to be compatible with various types of closures and dosing according to the selected packaging parameters. Depending on the specific accessories, it can be combined for example with screw caps, droppers, spray tops or practical applicators intended for small volumes.
The combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we recommend always performing your own compatibility test – check the sealing, uniformity of dosing and the behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation (viscosity, alcohol content, oil or water base, etc.).

Yes, the glass medicine bottle can be reused if hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, it is necessary to clean the packaging thoroughly and then disinfect it in order to minimize the risk of contamination of the new batch of product. For disinfection we recommend using for example isopropyl alcohol or ethanol – you will find them in the range as IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol and ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. After disinfection, allow the bottle and the closure to dry thoroughly and only then fill them again.
Before first use, we recommend rinsing the medicine bottle with warm water and a suitable cleaning agent, rinsing thoroughly with drinking water and subsequently, if possible, also with demineralized water. After washing, it is advisable to disinfect the glass part with alcohol (for example with products available on Handymade) and let it dry completely at room temperature on a clean, non-contaminating surface. Clean the aluminium cap more gently – with a short rinse or by wiping it with a disinfectant pad, so that the inner seal is not damaged.
The glass medicine bottle with aluminium cap is most often used for concentrated liquid formulations, such as face and body serums, active solutions, glycerine or alcohol extracts, aroma concentrates and small test batches of oil-based or emulsion preparations. It is also suitable for products for which you need precise dosing dropwise or in a small volume. In the case of formulas with an unconventional composition (high acid content, strong solvents) we recommend first carrying out a short-term stability test in contact with the glass and the cap seal.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend emptying it as much as possible and wiping off product residues with a paper towel. The glass part of the bottle can be placed, after removing the cap, into a container intended for glass sorting according to local recycling rules. The aluminium closure usually belongs in the collection of metal packaging – please follow the labelling and recommendations of your collection system. For storage, we recommend keeping the bottle in a dry, clean environment and protecting it from extreme temperatures and direct sunlight, if the sensitivity of your formulation requires it. Always tighten the cap thoroughly so that there is no unwanted evaporation of volatile components or ingress of impurities. If you work with multiple batches, label each medicine bottle with the filling date and the name of the formula so that you can track the shelf life and behaviour of the product over time.
