Amber Plastic Bottle, Silver Aluminium Cap, 50 ml

The amber plastic medicine bottle, 50 ml, with an aluminium cap is a complete, ready-to-use closed pack for small quantities of liquid cosmetics. The amber colour of the PET limits the light reaching the contents, so it suits products that age faster in light: facial and hair oils, oil serums, toners, hydrosols or herbal tinctures. The plastic is light and does not break, so the bottle is easy to work with when posting parcels, travelling or decanting samples.

The set includes a screw-on aluminium cap in silver with an 18 mm thread, which closes the bottle without a dispensing opening. The contents are poured or measured out separately. For dispensing drop by drop, the bottle can be combined with a dropper that has the same neck type. Both the bottle and the cap are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What the set is suitable for

• Oils and oil serums – amber plastic dims the light that speeds up oxidation and yellowing of oils. The 50 ml volume corresponds to a common pack size of facial or massage oil.
• Toners and hydrosols – water-based products that are applied with a cotton pad or into the palm and do not need a sprayer.
• Tinctures and extracts – alcohol-based preparations in small quantities. With a high proportion of alcohol or essential oils, we recommend testing beforehand how the plastic behaves with the specific contents.
• Samples and travel sizes – low weight and resistance to breakage suit situations where glass would be needlessly heavy.
• Raw material stock – smaller quantities of liquid active ingredients, hydrosols or oils decanted from larger packs for quick use during production.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total brimful volume is larger and represents the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them provides a margin for the cap or dropper and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If it is overfilled, the contents are pushed out when the cap is tightened or the dropper is inserted, and they seep into the thread.

Good to know

• Seal – the cap has an inner EPE foam liner, which sits against the neck of the bottle once tightened. When filling it yourself, we recommend testing the seal with the bottle lying on its side, especially with thin water-based and alcohol-based contents.
• PET and heat – the bottle is not intended for hot filling. Let infusions, solutions and emulsions cool before filling, otherwise the plastic may deform.
• Sensitivity to solvents – PET tolerates both water-based and oil-based contents, but do not expose it to aggressive chemicals. For undiluted essential oils and fragrance compositions, we recommend glass instead.
• Reuse – after washing and disinfection, the bottle can be used again. Check that the cap liner keeps its shape and does not carry the odour of the previous contents.
• Contact with food – only the amber plastic bottle on its own has a certificate for direct food contact; the aluminium cap does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics.
• Other closures – closures with the same neck type and ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
• Recycling – PET is among the commonly recycled plastics, and the aluminium cap is sorted as metal. Separate the cap from the bottle before disposal.
