Macadamia Nut Oil, Refined 500 ml

Macadamia oil, refined is a stable plant-based emollient obtained from the seeds (nuts) of the Macadamia integrifolia tree (macadamia). Most commonly, the oil is first obtained by pressing the seeds and is then refined (purification, neutralisation, bleaching and deodorisation) so that the final product is more neutral in colour and odour, more stable, and suitable for a wide range of cosmetic formulations. In practice it is used mainly to soften, smooth and support skin comfort without a heavy greasy film.

Active substances and natural components

• Palmitoleic acid (omega-7): typical for macadamia; contributes to a “sebum-like” sensory profile (feeling similar to natural skin sebum) and to a soft, smoothed finish.
• Monounsaturated fatty acids: support pleasant spreadability and comfort on the skin; the oil is often perceived as “soft” and non-slippery.
• Trace components (depending on the degree of refining): tocopherols and phytosterols may naturally occur in oils, but their content may be reduced in refined oils.
