White glass medicine bottle, white and gold fine mist sprayer, 15 ml

A small glass medicine bottle with a sprayer for liquid cosmetic spray products applied in small amounts. The opaque white glass limits the light reaching the contents, so it also suits formulations with hydrosols, plant extracts or essential oils, which gradually change in light. The glossy white and gold sprayer matches the white glass and dispenses the contents as a fine mist without the bottle having to be opened.

A volume of 15 ml is enough for a sample or a travel pack. For this reason the set is often used for trial batches, when the formulation is still being fine-tuned and there is no point in filling a large pack. Both the bottle and the sprayer are declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products, and you will find the declaration of conformity for both components with the product.

What it is suitable for

• Facial toners and hydrosols – low-viscosity water-based formulations spray evenly and are applied to the skin without touching them with your hands.
• Perfume samples and body mists – alcohol-based formulations pass through the nozzle without problems, and the small volume is suitable for testing fragrances or for travel.
• Hair and skin sprays – light refreshing blends, hair sprays with hydrosol or blends with glycerine.
• Room and textile sprays in small packs – the sprayer dispenses finely, so it is also suitable for fragrance sprays for pillows or home textiles.

The sprayer is intended for contents that flow like water or alcohol. Thicker blends, gels and most vegetable oils pass through the nozzle with difficulty, and the mist turns into a stream or drops. For oil-based formulations, we recommend testing how the sprayer behaves on a single piece before you fill a larger number.

Nominal volume and brimful volume

Two volumes are distinguished for each bottle. The nominal volume is the amount the packaging is designed for in normal filling. The total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck, and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them provides a reserve for the sprayer tube, which takes up part of the space once screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill up to the nominal volume. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the contents will overflow through the thread when the sprayer is screwed on, and the closure will not seal.

How to work with the set

The sprayer combines plastic (PP) and aluminium, and the dose per press is approximately 0.14 ml. Before the first filling, wash the bottle with warm water and, if needed, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and let it dry completely. Simply rinse the sprayer with clean water or ethanol and pump it several times while empty to push any residues out of the tube.

After filling, screw the sprayer on straight and tighten it by hand. The first few presses fill the tube and the nozzle, and only then does a regular mist appear. If the mist is not even or the nozzle splutters, the contents are usually too thick, or an air bubble is trapped in the tube.

Good to know

The set can be used repeatedly. However, residues of oils or stronger fragrances are harder to remove from the plastic parts of the sprayer, so we recommend replacing it with a new one when you change the formulation.

Concentrated essential oils and some solvents may cause the plastic parts of the sprayer to swell or soften over time. For formulations with a higher proportion of essential oils, test how the sprayer behaves on a single piece and check whether the seal or the flexibility of the tube changes after several weeks.

For your own combination, we recommend checking the tightness, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.

After use, the bottle belongs in glass waste and the sprayer, as a combination of plastic and aluminium, in plastics, so unscrew them from each other before disposal.
