Amber Glass Bottle, Slim, White Lotion Pump, 50 ml

The 50 ml amber glass medicine bottle with a white lotion pump forms a complete packaging set for creams, face lotions and thicker serums that should be dispensed in small doses, without fingers touching the contents. Amber glass dampens light, so it also suits formulations with vegetable oils, vitamins and other active ingredients that lose effectiveness or change colour in light. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

The tall, slim shape of the medicine bottle sits well in the hand and takes up little space on a shelf. The pump screws onto the neck of the bottle, the tube reaches the bottom and the contents are dispensed by pressing the head. Each press releases only a small amount, which you will appreciate with concentrated products, where a drop or two is enough for one application.

What the set is suitable for

• Face creams and lotions – the pump dispenses thicker textures without scooping with fingers, so the contents stay cleaner throughout use.
• Thicker serums and gels – a small dose per press makes it easier to apply precisely to the face, the eye area or the décolleté.
• Light-sensitive formulations – amber glass slows down the breakdown of oils and active ingredients that would degrade faster in clear packaging.
• Smaller batches and test samples – a volume of 50 ml corresponds to the usual size of a face cream that lasts several weeks.

The pump is intended primarily for cream and emulsion textures. With very thin liquids, for example water-based toners, check in advance how the contents behave in the pump.

Filling and volume

Nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. Brimful capacity is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and you will find it in the parameters. The difference between them provides a reserve for the tube and the body of the pump and for possible expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If the bottle were filled completely, the contents would be pushed out through the neck when the pump is fitted.

Preparation and reuse

Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. Rinse the pump with clean water, if needed disinfect it as well, and let it dry, including the tube. Moisture in the packaging could compromise the stability of a preserved formulation.

After thorough washing, the glass bottle can be reused. The pump is harder to clean, because cream residues remain in the mechanism and the tube. For reuse, therefore, rinse it with warm water immediately after emptying, before the contents dry. When changing the formulation, we recommend a new pump instead, especially if the new product has a different fragrance or colour.

Good to know

• Dose per press – approximately 0.14 ml, which corresponds to a small dose of serum or cream for one application. The actual amount depends on the thickness of the contents.
• Tube length – if the tube touches the bottom and bends after fitting, shorten it with a sharp knife so that it ends just above the bottom. The pump will then draw up the contents more reliably.
• Glass and heat – do not expose the bottle to sudden temperature changes. Let a hot emulsion cool before filling so that the glass does not crack and the pump does not become deformed.
• Plastic and strong solvents – the pump is made of polypropylene. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, alcohol or other solvents, check in advance whether the material changes in appearance or tightness.
• Contact with food – only the glass medicine bottle on its own has a certificate for direct contact with food. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
• Recycling – once the contents have been used up, unscrew the pump. The bottle goes in glass recycling, the pump in plastic recycling.
