Product description
Glass bottle, translucent milky, with black cap, 30 ml
A small glass container for oils, serums, tinctures and samples of your own products that you want to give customers or acquaintances to try. It is a ready-made set consisting of a 30 ml glass bottle and a black plastic cap with an 18/410 thread. The milky glass subtly hints at the contents without fully revealing them, and looks clean even without an elaborate label.
The cap is a simple screw-on type with no dispensing element. The contents are therefore poured directly from the neck, or the bottle serves as a storage or travel container for products that do not require precise dosing.
Key features of the set
- Glass as a material – does not let air through, does not react with common cosmetic ingredients, and can withstand essential oils, fragrance compositions or alcoholic tinctures, which can degrade some plastics over time.
- Milky translucency – diffuses light and slightly reduces its effect on the contents. For ingredients that are highly sensitive to light, store the filled bottle away from direct sunlight.
- Simple cap with a sealing insert – the black cap made of PP has an inner foam insert made of EPE, which, when tightened, seats on the neck and seals the contents against leakage during normal handling.
- 30 ml volume – a typical size for samples, travel packaging, oils and serums that are used up within a few weeks, so the container is not unnecessarily opened and closed repeatedly.
- Declared suitability for cosmetics – both the bottle and cap are documented as suitable for contact with cosmetic products; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics.
Nominal and total volume
For every container, we distinguish between nominal volume and total volume to the rim. The nominal volume is the quantity the bottle is intended for during normal filling and which you state on the label. The total volume to the rim is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference between them provides a reserve for the closure and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim. If overfilled, the cap would push the contents out and the insert would not seal.
For oils and alcoholic tinctures, also leave a reserve because the contents expand slightly when heated in a bag or in the sun. If you fill the bottle with a warm formulation, let it cool down before closing. Otherwise, a vacuum will form as it cools and the cap will be harder to open.
Use in production
The set is suitable for anhydrous products, such as oils, oil serums, massage and fragrance oils, as well as alcoholic tinctures and fragrance blends. It can also be used for aqueous products, such as tonics or hydrolats. For these, keep in mind that a simple cap does not allow dosing and the contents are poured directly. Emulsions and creams with a thicker consistency are difficult to pour from a narrow neck; jars or containers with a dispensing closure are more suitable for them.
Before first filling, wash and disinfect both the bottle and the cap with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Residual water in the glass would introduce moisture into an anhydrous product, shortening its stability. Tighten the cap by hand without tools so the insert is not damaged.
Closures with the same neck type as stated in the specifications, and other ready-made combinations, are available in the Handymade range. When combining your own container and closure, we recommend verifying the seal, dispensing behaviour and performance of the container with the specific formulation in advance.
Good to know
- Glass and heat – the bottle can withstand normal temperatures during filling, but is not suitable for sudden temperature changes, such as filling hot contents into cold glass. Pour the formulation lukewarm, not boiling.
- Reuse – the bottle can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. Check the cap to make sure the foam insert is not compressed, saturated with oil, or wrinkled. If it is, replace it with a new one.
- Labelling – milky glass provides an even light background on which even simple single-colour labels look good. Dimensions suitable for a label can be found in the container specifications.
- Black cap – contrasts with the light glass. With essential oils, wipe the neck before closing so that oil does not get onto the thread and the insert.
- Recycling – the glass bottle goes into glass recycling; the plastic cap, once separated, goes into plastics.
The set is not intended for contact with food. The bottle and cap are certified for cosmetics; food use is not documented. Do not use it for home-made oils, syrups or infusions.
