Plastic bottle, vial, clear, 18 mm, flip top, white, 10 ml

A small clear vial with a flip-top cap for samples, testers and travel-size packaging of cosmetics. This is a ready-to-use set: a clear plastic vial made of PET with a volume of 10 ml and a white flip top cap with the same neck type. Suitable for smaller quantities of liquid to medium-viscosity products dispensed drop by drop or in small doses. The transparent material shows the colour and fill level, PET is lightweight and shatter-resistant, so the packaging can withstand postal shipping and carrying in a bag.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics, the declaration of conformity is available with the product. The food-contact compliance certificate applies to the bottle alone; the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

Samples and testers – 10 ml is enough for a customer to try out a formulation or to compare several variants of a single product.
Serums and facial oils – the flip top dispenses a small amount without unscrewing, just gently squeeze the bottle.
Gels and liquid cleansing products – samples of liquid soap, shampoo, shower gel or micellar water can be squeezed out of the bottle with ease.
Travel sizes – a lightweight bottle with a securely snapped cap is more practical for a short trip than glass.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed under normal filling conditions and which is stated on the label. Total brim-full volume is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them is a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The nominal volume is stated in the product parameters.

With a flip top cap, leave free space in the neck. An overfilled bottle will push the contents out when the cap is first flipped open, and may leak due to pressure changes during transport.

Good to know

Before first use, we recommend washing both the bottle and the cap, sanitising them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leaving them to dry completely. The same applies when reusing. The flip top cap can be opened and rinsed; however, the dispensing opening is small, so blow through it or rinse it under running water when cleaning.

Light. Clear PET does not protect the contents from light. Formulations containing photosensitive ingredients (certain vitamins, plant extracts, essential oils) should be stored in the dark or a darker packaging variant should be chosen.

Temperature. PET is not designed for filling with hot contents. Allow emulsions and gels to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the bottle may deform.

Undiluted essential oils, fragrance compositions at higher concentrations and solvents may attack or cloud PET over time. For such contents, we recommend glass. For diluted oil mixtures, verify the behaviour of the packaging with the finished formulation.

Label. The bottle has a smooth cylindrical body to which a narrow label can be applied. Bottle dimensions can be found in the product parameters.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. Both materials are recyclable; separate them before disposal.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 10 ml flip top vial suitable for facial serum?

Yes, the set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics and the flip top cap dispenses serum in small amounts. For water-based serums with photosensitive active ingredients, bear in mind that clear PET does not protect the contents from light. Store such a bottle in the dark or opt for a darker packaging variant.

Can I fill the clear PET vial with essential oils?

We do not recommend filling this bottle with undiluted essential oils. Concentrated essential oils and solvents can attack or cloud PET. For diluted oil mixtures with a low proportion of essential oil, verify the packaging behaviour in advance; for pure essential oils, choose a glass bottle.

How do I fill a flip top bottle without it squirting?

Fill the bottle to the nominal volume, not to the brim. The neck must retain a reserve for the cap and for the expansion of the contents with changes in temperature. For the first use, flip the cap open over a sink and gently tilt the bottle first. PET reacts even to slight pressure, so the contents flow out quickly.

Can the 10 ml plastic vial be reused?

Yes, wash the bottle and the cap, sanitise them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and refill once dry. The dispensing opening in the cap is small, so rinse it under running water when cleaning. If the PET is cloudy or smells of the previous contents, replace the bottle.

Is this set also suitable for food, for example oils or syrups?

No, the set as a whole is not declared for contact with food. The food-contact compliance certificate applies to the bottle alone; the white flip top cap does not have one. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products. For food use, choose a bottle with a cap that holds a food-contact certification.

Which cap fits a vial with an 18 mm neck?
