Product description

A black glass bottle with a capacity of 50 ml and a white-silver sprayer is supplied as a complete set — the container and closure match each other and do not need to be sourced separately. The opaque black glass protects the contents from light, and the glossy surface combined with white and silver gives the appearance of finished retail packaging without further customisation. Suitable for facial tonics, hydrosol mists, hair sprays, alcohol-based perfume and body waters, and other thin preparations applied by spraying.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The glass bottle alone holds a certification for direct food contact; the sprayer does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics use.

How the set works

The sprayer works without a propellant. One press releases approximately 0.14 ml of content; the dose is small and can be controlled by the number of presses. The dip tube reaches the bottom of the bottle, so the contents are used up almost entirely.

The mechanism is designed for thin liquids: water, hydrosols, alcohol-based solutions, and tonics. It will generally not atomise thick emulsions, gels, or pure vegetable oils into a fine mist — it will either discharge them in a stream or clog. With thicker contents, we recommend testing with a small amount before filling an entire batch.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed for under normal filling. Total volume to the brim, stated in the specifications, is the physical volume up to the neck. The difference provides clearance for the sprayer body with its dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when temperature changes.

Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If filled right up to the neck, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on, and some will remain in the thread, later appearing as a sticky residue or dripping.

What is worth knowing

  • Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, sanitise it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and allow to dry completely. After filling, press the sprayer several times until the dip tube is primed and the mist is even.
  • Dip tube length – the tube should end just above the bottom. If it rests against the bottom and bends, trim it with a sharp knife. An angled cut at the tip will make drawing easier.
  • Glass and heat – allow hot solutions to cool before filling. Sudden temperature changes are not good for glass, and warm contents will contract on cooling, making the bottle look underfilled.
  • Plastic parts and strong ingredients – the sprayer contains parts made of polypropylene. Higher concentrations of essential oils, fragrance compositions, or solvents may over time affect the seals and mechanism.
  • Reuse – after washing and disinfection, the bottle can be refilled. Before the next filling, rinse the sprayer with clean water, spray it empty, and allow it to dry; otherwise residues from the previous contents will mix with the new.
  • Sorting – glass goes into glass collection. The sprayer combines polypropylene and aluminium; separate it from the bottle before disposal.

With your own formula, fill one bottle first and leave it to stand with the sprayer attached for a week. You will find out whether the contents leak around the thread, whether the scent changes on contact with the plastic parts, and whether the sprayer still dispenses after a break.

Frequently asked questions

Does the black glass bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, black glass does not transmit light, so the contents are protected from its effects. For hydrosols, tonics with vitamins, or alcohol-based perfume waters, this is an advantage over a clear bottle. The fill level cannot be seen from outside, however; the remaining volume can be estimated by weight or by shaking.
Can the 50 ml glass bottle with sprayer be used for oil?
This sprayer is not suitable for pure vegetable oils or thick oil blends. It is designed for thin aqueous and alcohol-based liquids; oil will be discharged in a stream rather than a mist, and the mechanism may clog. For oils, containers with a dropper or pump dispenser are more appropriate.
Why should no more than 50 ml be poured into a 50 ml bottle?
The difference between the nominal and total volume is clearance for the sprayer and for the expansion of the contents — not additional filling space. When the sprayer is screwed on, the dip tube and the lower part of the mechanism are inserted into the bottle, raising the level. A completely full bottle will then overflow into the thread.
Is the glass bottle with sprayer suitable for food use?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. The glass bottle alone holds a certification for direct food contact; the sprayer does not carry such a declaration. The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics and is intended for that use.
Is the black bottle with sprayer suitable for alcohol-based perfume water?
Yes, glass tolerates an alcohol base and the black colour protects the perfume water from light. The plastic parts of the sprayer deserve attention — with a high proportion of alcohol and fragrance composition, they may affect the seals over time. We recommend filling one bottle as a trial and monitoring it for several weeks.
How is the glass bottle with sprayer cleaned, and can it be reused?
Yes, both the bottle and the sprayer can be reused. Wash the bottle with warm soapy water, rinse it, sanitise with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol, and leave it to dry upside down. Submerge the sprayer dip tube in clean water, spray several times, then spray empty so that no water remains in the tube.
