Product description
A complete set for sprays and atomized products: a black glass bottle in a vial shape with a nominal volume of 50 ml and a black-and-gold atomizer with a smoke cover that fits it. Black glass shields the contents from light, which is appreciated for products with sensitive ingredients such as hydrolates, facial mists, tonics, hair sprays, or alcohol-based perfume waters. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics and addresses both packaging and dosing at once, so there is no need to search for a closure with a matching neck.
Key benefits
- Light protection – black opaque glass protects the contents better than brown or blue glass, and significantly better than clear.
- Fine and even dose – the atomizer disperses liquid into a fine mist; one dose is a fraction of a millilitre, which suits facial mists, tonics, and perfumes.
- Glass with no interaction with the contents – glass does not react with alcohol, essential oils, or acidic pH, making it suitable for more demanding formulations.
- Practical format – 50 ml fits in a handbag or travel bag and is used up before the contents have time to deteriorate.
- Smoke cover – protects the atomizer head from dust and accidental pressing during transport.
What the set is suitable for
The atomizer works reliably with thin, water-like liquids. Typical uses include facial tonics and mists, hydrolates, refreshing body sprays, hair sprays without silicone film, alcohol-based perfume waters, home and textile fragrances, and spray deodorants with low viscosity. Thickened tonics, serums with a gel texture, or vegetable oils are generally not dispensed evenly by the atomizer and may cause clogging. For light oils and spray emulsions, we recommend verifying performance with the specific formulation before filling a larger batch.
The smoke cover is translucent, but the bottle is not. With black glass, the liquid level is not visible, so when filling it is more practical to measure the contents by weight or with a measuring cup rather than by eye.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume of 50 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for during standard filling. The total volume to the brim is larger, as it includes the space all the way up to the neck. The difference between them is an intentional reserve: once the atomizer is screwed on, its dip tube extends into the bottle and occupies part of the space, the contents expand with temperature changes, and filling to the brim would cause spillage when closing. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the neck. Both values are listed in the parameters.
After filling and screwing on the atomizer, press the head several times without dispensing until the dip tube and pump fill with liquid. Only then does the atomizer dispense evenly. Tighten the atomizer by hand, without tools, to avoid damaging the thread or the seal.
What is good to know
Before the first fill, wash and disinfect both the bottle and the atomizer with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow them to dry completely. Residual water in the dip tube or bottle would dilute the product, and in anhydrous or alcohol-based formulations it could cause cloudiness.
Glass tolerates hot water and standard disinfection, but do not fill it with boiling contents and do not expose it to sudden temperature changes, which may cause it to crack. The atomizer is composed of polypropylene, other plastics, and an aluminium detail. Prolonged contact with high concentrations of essential oils or aggressive solvents may soften or discolour the plastic parts over time. For perfume concentrates and alcohol-based products with a high proportion of fragrance materials, we therefore recommend verifying the atomizer's performance over several weeks of trial use.
The set is intended for repeated use. An atomizer that has been used for a perfume or a strongly aromatic product will usually retain the scent, so it is better not to use it for a different type of product.
Labels adhere well to the smooth glossy surface of the bottle. On black glass, light, gold, or transparent printed labels stand out and complement the colour of the atomizer.
The attestation for direct food contact applies to the glass bottle on its own. The atomizer does not have this attestation, so the set as a whole is not approved for food use and is intended for cosmetics. Do not use it for homemade syrups or oils.
Glass belongs in glass recycling. The atomizer is a combination of plastic and metal and must be separated from the bottle before recycling.
Closures with the same neck type as listed in the parameters, and other ready-made bottle and closure combinations, are available in the Handymade range. When combining your own components, we recommend verifying the seal, dosing, and packaging performance with the specific formulation.
