Product description
Blue glass bottle, aluminium cap, 100 ml
A ready-made combination of a blue glass bottle with a volume of 100 ml and a silver aluminium cap with an 18 mm thread. Blue glass reduces the amount of light reaching the contents, so the bottle is suitable for face and body oils, serums, hydrosols, toners and alcohol tinctures with light-sensitive ingredients. The aluminium cap screws onto the thread, and the liner seals the neck during storage and transport. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
The medicine bottle shape with a narrower neck is easy to hold when filling. The contents are dispensed by pouring or tilting. If you need smaller doses, you can later replace the cap with another closure with the same thread.
Suitable uses
- Vegetable and massage oils – blue glass slows the effect of light on the contents.
- Face and oil serums – the 100 ml volume corresponds to a common size for home use and for small-scale sales.
- Hydrosols and toners – water-based products that are dispensed by pouring into the palm or onto a cotton pad.
- Tinctures and alcohol extracts – the glass is resistant to alcohol and does not take on fragrance or colour from the contents.
- Perfume compositions and fragrance blends – the closed set limits the loss of fragrance during storage.
Volume and filling
The nominal volume is the volume the bottle is designed to hold when filled normally. The brimful capacity is the physical volume up to the neck, and you can find it in the parameters. The difference between the two values is a reserve for the closure and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled up to the nominal volume.
When filling, leave the level below the neck so that the liner of the cap does not touch the contents. With oils and tinctures, this reduces the risk of the contents getting into the thread, which could make the cap sticky or leaky over time.
Closure and dispensing
The aluminium cap with an EPE (foamed polyethylene) liner is tightened by hand. No force is needed, as the liner seals the neck with normal tightening. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or alcohol, we recommend checking the seal on one piece before filling the whole batch, and again after longer storage.
You can find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations of this bottle in the Handymade range. If you make your own combination, check the seal, the dispensing and the behaviour of the packaging with your specific formulation.
Good to know
Before the first filling, wash the bottle, disinfect it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let it dry completely. With oil-based and anhydrous products, no residual water must remain in the packaging.
Glass does not tolerate sudden changes in temperature. Do not pour a warm mixture into a cold bottle, and do not move a filled bottle straight from the cold into the warmth. Before filling, let the contents cool at least to a temperature at which the bottle can be held comfortably in the hand.
The set is not intended for contact with food. Use it for cosmetic and technical purposes.
The bottle is suitable for repeated use. After emptying, wash it, disinfect it and let it dry. Before the next use, check that the liner of the cap is not deformed or soaked with the previous contents. Glass belongs in the glass recycling collection, and the aluminium cap is sorted separately as metal.
