Ready-made packaging and closure set: a small vial made of amber glass with a nominal volume of 15 ml and a silver aluminium cap with the same thread type. Suitable wherever you need to store light-sensitive contents in small quantities – facial serums, oil blends, essential oils, alcohol tinctures, or samples and test batches of your own formulations. Amber glass reduces light transmission and slows oxidation and scent changes of the contents; the silver cap gives the packaging a clean look that is also suitable for retail.

How to use the set

The bottle is filled through the threaded neck. For oils and alcohol tinctures, a small funnel or pipette helps with transfer. Thicker serums are easier to dispense when allowed to warm to room temperature. The cap is screwed on and hand-tightened. Do not overtighten the aluminium closure by force, as this may deform the rim or the sealing insert.

It is important to distinguish between nominal and total volume. The nominal volume is the quantity the packaging is designed for in normal filling – in this case 15 ml. The total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference provides a reserve for the closure and for any expansion of the contents with temperature changes.

Suitable for contents such as

• Facial serums and oil serums – the small packaging and dark glass suit concentrated active ingredients and unstable oils.
• Essential oils and fragrance blends – glass does not react with concentrated essential oils and does not absorb their scent.
• Alcohol tinctures and extracts – alcohol in glass does not cause any changes to the packaging.
• Samples and test batches – a practical volume for trialling a formulation or for customer samples.

Good to know

Glass does not tolerate sudden temperature changes – do not pour a hot oil phase into a cold bottle, or vice versa. Allow the contents to cool to at least a lukewarm temperature, otherwise cracking is a risk.

The sealing insert of the cap is made of expanded polyethylene. For standard cosmetic contents it performs its function; for concentrated essential oils or solvents, we recommend verifying in practice whether the insert changes properties after prolonged contact. With your own formulation, always test the seal of the closed bottle by laying it on its side for several hours.

After washing, disinfecting and drying, the bottle can be used again. With the aluminium cap, check that it is not deformed and that the sealing insert is in place; a worn cap is better replaced with a new one of the same thread type.

After use, the glass bottle belongs in glass recycling and the aluminium cap in metals; separate them before disposal.
