The glass bottle with spray pump is a practical and hygienic packaging for liquid preparations where a gentle and even application in the form of a spray is required. Thanks to high‑quality glass and a reliable spraying mechanism, it is suitable for filling cosmetic formulations, aromatherapy blends and homemade preparations where precise and economical application to the skin or a surface is important. The chosen packaging helps protect the stability of the contents and enables convenient dosing without contact with the entire volume of the product.
The standalone glass bottle with spray pump is designed to be compatible with various types of closures and dispensing systems according to the selected parameters. It can be used with screw caps, droppers, other spray pumps or practical applicators, provided they have a matching neck and technical design. Combinations of packaging and closures created directly on Handymade are tested and functional. However, for all combinations we always recommend carrying out your own compatibility test (sealing, dosing and behaviour of the packaging in contact with the specific formulation).
All technical parameters of the packaging are listed in the attached Packaging Quality Certificate and in the product parameters.
From a material standpoint, the glass bottle is generally suitable for most water‑based and alcohol‑based cosmetic products and for formulations containing essential oils. However, it is always recommended to test the specific recipe first in a smaller amount to verify compatibility with the spray pump (fineness of the mist, flow, sealing) and the long‑term stability of the blend in the packaging.
The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene rules are followed. Before each new filling, both the bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned, rinsed and disinfected to minimize the risk of microbial contamination and unwanted interaction between residues of the original product and the new formulation. For disinfection, we recommend using a suitable alcohol‑based product, such as isopropyl alcohol or ethanol available in the Handymade range, e.g. IPA 99 % isopropyl alcohol 1 l or Ethanol 96 % denatured plant‑based 1 l. Only after the packaging is completely dry is it advisable to proceed with refilling.
When filling, we recommend using a funnel or a suitable dosing tool to avoid contaminating the bottle neck and thread. Do not fill the bottle right up to the top; leave a small air space that allows the spray mechanism to function correctly. After filling, check that the spray pump is screwed on evenly and tightly enough, but without excessive tightening, which could damage the thread or the seal. Before first use, it is normal for the mechanism to require several pumps before it starts dispensing the product.
To extend the service life of the packaging, store the bottle, including its contents, away from direct sunlight and heat sources and at the recommended temperatures for the given product type. During use, avoid mechanical impacts that could damage the glass. We do not recommend using the spray pump with mixtures that are too thick or highly viscous, as these may clog the nozzle. With repeated use, regular cleaning is important, including thoroughly flushing the mechanism with lukewarm water (if the formulation allows) followed by disinfection with a recommended alcohol‑based product before refilling.
If you decide not to reuse the packaging, we recommend recycling it in accordance with the applicable waste‑sorting rules listed for the product in the parameter table on the Handymade website. After emptying and rinsing, the glass part of the bottle is normally placed in the appropriate glass container according to the local collection system. The spray pump, as a combined component (plastic + metal spring and other parts), usually needs to be sorted according to the instructions given for the product or placed in mixed waste if local rules do not allow more detailed sorting. Before handing the packaging over for recycling, it is advisable to remove any product residues.
To select suitable packaging, we recommend using the advanced filter, which you can find at the top of the page after clicking on the relevant packaging‑material category. In the advanced filter you can combine several parameters at once – for example, type and size of the neck, overall size of the packaging, colour and material. In this way you can easily choose bottles, jars or pharmaceutical bottles that match your formulation and desired visual style and are at the same time compatible with the available closures, pumps and spray dispensers.
