Is this glass bottle suitable for thicker emulsions or oils?

The mechanical spray pump is designed primarily for water-based, hydrolate-based and low-viscosity preparations, as well as gentle hydroalcoholic blends. Thick emulsions, oils and gels may significantly restrict or completely prevent spraying. For non-standard formulations, we recommend carrying out a trial filling and testing the dosing functionality on a small sample of the product.

How can I safely reuse the bottle for different products?

The packaging can be reused if basic hygiene principles are observed. Before each new filling, the bottle and the spray pump must be thoroughly cleaned and then disinfected with a suitable alcohol-based preparation, for example IPA 99% isopropyl alcohol or ethanol 96% denatured plant-based. Only after the alcohol has completely dried and aired out is the packaging ready for further use. When changing the type of product (for example, from a disinfectant to skin care), thorough cleaning and disinfection is particularly important.

How should I correctly store filled bottles with cosmetics or sprays?

We recommend storing filled bottles upright, well closed and protected from direct sunlight and significant temperature fluctuations. Stable room conditions help maintain the quality and consistency of the contents as well as the reliability of the spray pump. For products containing volatile substances (for example, alcohol, essential oils in low concentration), it is important to always close the packaging carefully to minimise losses due to evaporation.

How can I safely recycle the bottle and spray pump if I no longer want to use them?

Before recycling, it is advisable to empty the packaging as much as possible. The glass part of the bottle is sorted into the container intended for glass according to local collection rules. The plastic spray pump and cap must be sorted according to the material type indicated in the parameter table for the product on the Handymade.sk website – most often into the appropriate container for plastics. If you are unsure about sorting a combined package, follow the recommendations of your municipality or waste collection service. Recycling is a suitable alternative when you decide not to reuse the packaging.
