Product description
30 ml amber glass bottle with black pump sprayer is a complete packaging and closure set, ready for filling. Amber glass reduces light transmission and protects contents that degrade in light. The sprayer turns liquid into a fine mist and dispenses it without finger contact. The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics and is particularly well suited for hydrolates, tonics, facial and hair mists or alcoholic perfume waters in travel or sample packaging.
Key features
- Light protection – amber glass transmits significantly less light than clear glass. This is valuable for contents with essential oils, plant extracts or vitamins that lose efficacy in light.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents do not come into contact with skin or fingers during use. The sprayer delivers a small, repeatable dose with each press, reducing the risk of product contamination.
- Inert material – glass does not react with the contents, does not transfer scent and does not absorb colourants. It is therefore also suitable for alcoholic and strongly aromatic contents.
- Small volume – 30 ml is sufficient for a sample, test batch or travel version of a product. The contents are used up before they have a chance to change properties.
- Black top – the neutral colour complements the amber glass and lets the label stand out.
What the set is suitable for
The sprayer works reliably with thin, water-like liquids. Best results are achieved with hydrolates, facial tonics, refreshing mists, alcoholic perfume waters, hair sprays without a thickener and aqueous solutions of active ingredients.
Conversely, thick oils, emulsions and gels will not pass through the nozzle or will not form a mist. They drip and clog the channel. With light dry oils or oil-based perfumes, we recommend testing the spraying on a small amount. The mist tends to be coarser and an oily film remains on the nozzle.
Nominal and total volume
Nominal volume is the volume for which the packaging is intended for standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume of the bottle up to the neck and is somewhat larger. The difference provides a margin for the submerged dip tube of the sprayer and for expansion of the contents with temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle will overflow when the sprayer is attached and liquid will enter the thread.
The dip tube of the sprayer is longer than the bottle. Before the first assembly, shorten it with an angled cut so that it ends just above the bottom and does not rest against it. The sprayer will then draw out the contents almost completely without drawing in air.
How to prepare and use the set
Before the first fill, wash the bottle, rinse it with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with clean water and press it several times empty so that any residual water is expelled. After filling, screw the sprayer on firmly until it seats on the neck. Leaks most commonly occur when it is not tightened sufficiently. The first few presses will only fill the dip tube and mechanism; the mist will appear only after that.
The set can be used repeatedly. When changing the contents, wash and disinfect the bottle, rinse the sprayer with warm water and then with pure ethanol so that the previous scent does not remain.
Glass handles sudden temperature changes poorly. Do not pour a hot solution into a cold bottle and do not place it in the freezer. The contents expand when frozen and the glass may crack.
Good to know
- Food-contact certification for the bottle only – the glass bottle itself holds a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetic products.
- Plastic and essential oils – the sprayer is made of polypropylene. With undiluted essential oils or strong solvents, we recommend monitoring the behaviour of the seal and nozzle over time. Glass alone handles these contents without issues.
- Preservation – the sprayer protects the contents from touch, not from air, which enters the bottle with every press. Aqueous contents should therefore be preserved just as they would be in a capped bottle.
- Other closures – closures with the same neck type as listed in the parameters fit the bottle. Further ready-made combinations are available in the Handymade range. With your own combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with the specific formulation.
- Recycling – when finished using, unscrew the sprayer. Glass goes into glass waste, the sprayer into plastics.
