Product description

A white plastic bottle with a black fine mist sprayer and smoky overcap is ready-to-use packaging for spray cosmetics. The set with a nominal volume of 100 ml is filled with facial toners, hydrolates, refreshing body or hair sprays and other thin preparations that are applied to the skin or hair by spraying. The white wall of the bottle hides the contents from view and limits the access of light, which you will appreciate with preparations that do not benefit from light.

The PET bottle is lightweight and does not break when dropped. The black PP sprayer is complemented by a smoky overcap, which covers the nozzle and protects it from dust and from being pressed accidentally in a bag. The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

  • Facial toners and hydrolates – water-based and thin preparations that, once sprayed, spread evenly over the skin without touching it with your hands.
  • Hair sprays – volumising and refreshing sprays, leave-in conditioners in a thin consistency or protective sprays with low viscosity.
  • Body and refreshing sprays – liquid body mists, after-sun sprays or travel packs of preparations that you use at home in a larger volume.
  • Working solutions in production – alcohol-based solutions for removing bubbles from the surface of soap or for disinfecting tools, provided you check that the components of the solution do not damage the packaging material.

Sprayer and dispensing

One press releases approximately 0.12 ml of the product in the form of a mist, so the amount is easily controlled by the number of presses. Such a small dose suits toners and facial sprays, where excessively wet skin is not desirable. The mechanism is designed for thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids. Thick emulsions, gels or plain vegetable oils are harder to draw up and spray, the nozzle may become blocked and a jet may form instead of a mist. For a formulation with higher viscosity, we recommend testing the behaviour of the sprayer on one piece before you fill the whole batch.

After filling the bottle, prime the sprayer by pressing it several times until the tube fills and an even mist starts to come out. The first presses only draw the product up.

Nominal volume and filling

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The volume of the bottle up to the neck is larger, and the difference serves as a reserve for the sprayer tube, for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes and for the air that gets inside during spraying. Therefore, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. An overfilled bottle may leak after the sprayer is screwed on, because the tube and the mechanism displace part of the space.

Good to know

Before the first filling, rinse the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect them if needed with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let them dry completely. Residual water would dilute the cosmetic preparation and could put a strain on its preservation.

PET withstands common water-based and alcohol-based preparations. For formulations with a high proportion of essential oils, fragrance compositions or solvents, we recommend checking compatibility with the bottle material and the sprayer seal on one piece. Watch for a change in shape, clouding of the wall or stiffening of the mechanism. Do not expose the packaging to aggressive chemicals or heat, and let a hot preparation cool down before filling.

The set is not intended for food. Only the bottle on its own has a food-contact certificate; combined with the sprayer, it is packaging for cosmetics.

After thorough cleaning, the bottle can be used repeatedly; whether the sprayer can be reused depends on the condition of its tube and nozzle. Replace a worn sprayer with a new one with the same neck type. When sorting waste, empty the packaging and separate the sprayer from the bottle; both parts belong with plastics.

Frequently asked questions

Does the white 100 ml plastic bottle protect the contents from light?
Partially. The white PET wall hides the contents and limits the amount of light that reaches the product, but it does not block light completely. We recommend storing preparations with light-sensitive active ingredients away from direct sunlight and checking the stability of the formulation in this packaging.
Can oil be sprayed with the sprayer on the 100 ml plastic bottle?
Plain vegetable oils generally do not spray well through this sprayer. The mechanism with a 0.12 ml dose is designed for thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids; with oils, a jet or drops form instead of a mist and the nozzle may become blocked. We recommend testing thin oil sprays on one piece; for thick oils, choose a bottle with a dropper or a pump.
Why is the 100 ml plastic bottle not filled to the brim?
Because the nominal volume of 100 ml is the filling volume and the space above it is a reserve. After the sprayer is screwed on, the tube and the mechanism take up part of the volume, the contents expand with temperature changes and air enters the bottle during spraying. If you fill to the brim, there is a risk of leaking around the thread.
Is the set of a plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is not declared for contact with food. Only the white PET bottle on its own has a food-contact certificate. The sprayer does not have such a certificate, so the set is intended for cosmetic products, for example toners, hydrolates or hair and body sprays.
Can the plastic bottle with a sprayer be cleaned and used again?
Yes, wash the bottle after emptying it, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol, let it dry and fill it again. Rinse the sprayer with clean water by pressing it several times and let it drain. If the nozzle sprays unevenly or the mechanism sticks, replace it with a new one with a thread that matches the neck of the bottle.
