Product description

The white plastic 100 ml bottle with a black and gold fine mist sprayer and smoky overcap is a ready-to-use set for thin cosmetic products that are applied by spraying. The PET bottle is lightweight and shatterproof, and the white opaque finish also limits the amount of light reaching the contents. The sprayer produces an even mist, so it is suitable for facial toners, hydrolates, hair sprays, body mists or refreshing hand sprays.

The set is declared suitable for contact with cosmetics. Only the bottle has a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not, so the set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

  • Toners and hydrolates – thin water-based products are sprayed evenly and applied in a thin layer directly onto the skin.
  • Hair and body mists – light sprays containing glycerine, aloe or hydrolates, or perfumed alcohol-based mists.
  • Refreshing and cleaning sprays – the 100 ml size fits into a handbag and is handy for travel, and the sprayer dispenses a small amount without spilling.
  • Sprays with alcohol – for alcohol-based formulations, and especially with a higher proportion of essential oils, we recommend testing how the material behaves on a sample.

Good to know

The sprayer works only with low-viscosity liquids. The nozzle will not disperse thick emulsions, oils or serums with a thickener, or it may become clogged. If the formulation contains an oil component, it should be solubilised so that it remains clear and fluid.

The nominal volume of the bottle is the volume the packaging is designed for under normal filling. The total volume up to the neck is larger. The difference provides a reserve for the sprayer’s dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes, so the bottle is filled up to the nominal volume, not to the brim.

Before the first filling, wash the bottle and the sprayer, disinfect the inside with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and leave it to dry completely. Residual water could start microbial spoilage of a water-based formulation.

The smoky overcap protects the nozzle from dirt and from being pressed accidentally in a bag. The closure screws tightly onto the neck. When filling the bottle yourself, check the seal by turning it upside down, and press the sprayer several times to bleed the air out of the dip tube.

After thorough washing, the packaging can be reused. PET does not tolerate high temperatures, so never pour hot infusions or freshly boiled solutions into the bottle; let the contents cool first. Aggressive solvents and pure essential oils may cloud or soften the plastic over time.

The bottle and the sprayer are made of different materials. For disposal, separate the sprayer from the bottle; the PET bottle belongs in the separate plastics collection.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml plastic bottle with a sprayer suitable for a hydrolate or facial toner?
Yes, thin water-based products such as hydrolates and toners are the most suitable contents for this set. The sprayer disperses them evenly onto the skin or hair. The white opaque PET also limits the amount of light reaching the contents. Water-based formulations must be preserved, as the packaging alone does not ensure microbial stability.
Can I put oil in the white PET bottle with a sprayer?
Pure oil does not belong in this set. The sprayer is designed for low-viscosity liquids, and an oil would be sprayed unevenly or would clog the nozzle. If you want a spray product with an oil component, solubilise the oil into the water or alcohol phase so that the result remains clear and fluid.
Is the bottle and sprayer set suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for food contact. Only the white PET bottle has a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not. The set is therefore intended for cosmetic products, for which both components are declared suitable.
Why is the bottle with a sprayer not filled to the brim?
The bottle is filled up to the nominal volume because the sprayer’s dip tube takes up space and the contents need a reserve when the temperature changes. The nominal volume of 100 ml is the amount the packaging is designed for. If the bottle were filled to the brim, part of the contents would be pushed out when the closure is screwed on, and it could overflow when warmed.
Can the PET bottle with a sprayer withstand an alcohol spray or essential oils?
We recommend first testing an alcohol spray or a formulation with essential oils in a single bottle and observing the packaging for several weeks. A high proportion of pure essential oils, especially citrus ones, or other solvents may cloud or soften the plastic over time. It is advisable to check both the sprayer and the bottle with your specific composition, including the tightness of the seal.
