Amber Glass Bottle, White Lotion Pump, 50 ml

Brown glass bottle 50 ml with a white plastic cream pump is a complete set for liquid and semi-liquid cosmetic preparations dispensed by pressing. The closure does not unscrew and fingers do not come into contact with the contents. Brown glass reduces light exposure, making the set especially suitable for facial serums, light creams and lotions or oil blends with active ingredients sensitive to light and oxidation. Both parts are declared suitable for contact with cosmetics.

Why this combination

• Protection of contents from light – brown glass transmits significantly less light than clear glass, which slows the degradation of vegetable oils, vitamins and other sensitive ingredients.
• Hygienic dispensing – contents are dispensed only by pressing the pump. No fingers or spatulas touch the preparation, reducing the risk of microbial contamination of leave-on products.
• Small, repeatable dose – the pump delivers a small amount per press, suitable for serums and concentrated facial preparations used drop by drop rather than by the palmful. The exact volume per dose is stated in the product specifications.
• Glass with no odour residue – glass does not absorb fragrances or colourants, so the bottle can be reused for a different preparation after thorough cleaning without transferring any scent.
• Practical size – fifty millilitres is the standard volume of a facial serum or eye cream. It is used up in a reasonable time and fits into a cosmetic bag.

Which products is the set suitable for

The pump with dip tube works reliably with contents that flow or can be drawn up through the tube: aqueous and gel serums, light O/W emulsions, facial and body lotions, fluids, oil serums and vegetable oil blends. With more viscous creams the dispensing slows down and thick product may remain in the tube. Thick creams, butters and balms do not belong in this type of packaging — a jar is more suitable for them. The set is also not recommended for preparations with solid particles (exfoliating beads, undissolved powders) that could block the mechanism.

Nominal and total volume

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under standard filling. Total volume to the brim is the physical volume up to the neck and is always somewhat larger. The difference provides a reserve for the dip tube and the pump body, which take up some space once screwed in, and for slight expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If filled right to the neck, the contents would be forced out through the thread when fitting the pump.

Good to know

Before the first fill, we recommend washing and sanitising both the bottle and the pump with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing them to dry completely. Rinse the pump with alcohol and press it several times empty to flush the internal mechanism as well.

The pump dip tube is supplied longer than the height of this bottle. Before use, cut it at an angle so that it ends just above the bottom. The angled end will not suction onto the glass and the bottle will empty with almost no residue. Once screwed in, press the pump several times until the system fills and begins dispensing evenly.

The pump is made of polypropylene, which tolerates both aqueous and oily contents well. For preparations with a high proportion of essential oils or solvents, it is advisable to check the behaviour of the pump after prolonged standing. The pump is not an airless system. Air enters the bottle during each press, so preparations require standard preservation and antioxidant protection as with any other openable packaging.

The glass bottle alone holds a food contact certificate. The pump does not, which is why the complete set is intended for cosmetics, not for food. The declaration of conformity and documentation for both parts are available with the product.

For labelling, account for the cylindrical body of the bottle — its dimensions are in the product specifications. When the packaging has reached the end of its life, glass goes with glass waste and the plastic pump with plastics; separate them before disposal.
