Amber Plastic Bottle, Black Plastic Flip Top Cap, 18/410, 10 ml

An amber PET plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a black flip top cap is used for packaging liquid cosmetic products in a volume of 10 ml. The amber plastic reduces the transmission of light, so the bottle suits oils, serums and other products that are harmed by light. PET is lightweight and, unlike glass, does not break, so you can carry the small bottle in a bag or send it to customers as a sample. The cap is not unscrewed during use. You flip the lid open with your thumb and the contents come out through a small opening in drops or in a thin stream.

The set is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. Only the bottle has a certificate for direct food contact; the flip top cap does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetic products.

What it is suitable for

• Facial and hair oils – dispensed in drops through the opening in the cap, without a dropper and without unscrewing.
• Serums and liquid concentrates – a small volume is used up quickly, so the contents do not stay open for long.
• Massage and body oils for travel – an unbreakable bottle with a closed lid is less likely to leak in luggage than an open neck.
• Samples for customers and test batches – lightweight packaging with no risk of breakage during delivery.

Filling and dispensing

Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for in normal filling. The brimful capacity is slightly larger, because headspace must remain above the liquid for the cap and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled up to the nominal volume, not up to the neck.

The narrow neck is filled with a funnel or a syringe from a larger container. Let warm emulsions and oils cool before filling, as the plastic packaging is not intended for hot filling. The flip top is designed for liquid and slightly viscous contents. A thick gel or cream comes out with difficulty through the small opening, so test such contents in a single bottle before filling the whole batch.

Good to know

The bottle is made of PET and the cap of PP. Both materials tolerate common cosmetic oils, emulsions and aqueous solutions. For concentrated essential oils, products with a high alcohol content or products containing solvents, we recommend checking beforehand that the packaging does not soften or deform and that the lid still seals after some time.

The cap is supplied as part of the set. Closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations can be found in the Handymade range. If you combine the bottle with a different closure, check the seal and dispensing with your specific formulation.

The packaging can be reused. After using it for oil, degrease the bottle thoroughly with warm water and washing-up liquid, rinse the opening in the cap and check the lid hinge to make sure it has not cracked from repeated opening. For recycling, the PET bottle and the PP cap are separated, as they are different plastics.
