Product description

What the set is suitable for

The amber PET pharmaceutical bottle with a black fine mist sprayer is a ready-made packaging solution for a small amount of liquid product that is applied by spraying. The 10 ml volume is enough for a travel pack, a customer sample or first trial batches where you do not want to mix a large quantity. Amber plastic reduces light, so sun-sensitive contents stay stable for longer than in a clear bottle.

A sprayer is meant for thin, watery or alcohol-based contents: face and body mists, toners, hydrolates, eau de parfum and fragrance samples, textile fresheners or hand disinfection sprays. The nozzle will not spray thick serums, gels and pure oils evenly. For those, choose a dropper or a pump instead.

Key features

  • Protection from light – the amber colour of the plastic limits the amount of light reaching the contents, which suits hydrolates, perfumes with natural essential oils and extracts.
  • Lightweight, unbreakable plastic – PET withstands drops and being carried in a bag, so the set works as a travel pack or a sample for mailing.
  • Sprayer included in the price – there is no need to buy a closure separately; once filled and screwed on, the set is ready to use.
  • Fine dose – the sprayer releases a small amount with each press, suitable for refreshing the skin or applying a toner without dripping.

Filling and volume

The nominal volume is the amount the bottle is intended for under normal filling. The total volume up to the neck is larger, but this difference serves as a reserve for the sprayer dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, fill up to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If you fill up to the neck, the tube pushes part of the liquid out and the sprayer may not seal.

With a small neck, filling is easier with a funnel or a needle-free syringe. Pour in the contents cooled to room temperature, as warm solutions can deform the plastic.

Before first use, wash the bottle and the sprayer, rinse them with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and let them dry completely. You can clean the sprayer tube by spraying pure alcohol through it several times.

Good to know

For the sprayer to work properly, the contents need a low viscosity. If the mist turns into a jet or the nozzle stops dispensing after a few presses, the contents are too thick or contain particles that clog the nozzle. For this reason, filter extracts and hydrolates before filling.

PET is stable with common water-based and alcohol-based products. For contents with a high proportion of essential oils or for solvents, we recommend checking the behaviour of the packaging on a test sample, as aggressive chemicals can damage the plastic. Do not fill the set with hot contents and do not store it near a heat source.

The bottle has a declaration of suitability for use with cosmetic products and, separately, a certificate for direct contact with food. No such declaration is available for the black sprayer. Suitability for contact with cosmetics and food therefore applies only to the bottle, not to the set as a whole.

The set with a sprayer is not intended for filling with food. Only the bottle itself has the food contact certificate, not the sprayer.

Once empty, the set can be washed and used again; it is enough to rinse the sprayer with alcohol. At the end of its life, the PET bottle belongs in sorted plastic waste. You can find closures with the same neck type and other ready-made combinations in the Handymade range. For your own combination, we recommend checking the seal and dispensing with the specific contents.

Frequently asked questions

Does the amber PET pharmaceutical bottle protect the contents from light?
Yes, the amber colour of the plastic reduces the amount of light reaching the contents. It is therefore suitable for hydrolates, eau de parfum and extracts that change colour or scent in light. However, the protection does not replace proper storage, so keep the bottle out of direct sunlight.
What contents can be sprayed from a 10 ml pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer?
Thin water-based and alcohol-based liquids can be sprayed, for example toners, hydrolates, face mists, eau de parfum and disinfection sprays. The nozzle cannot spray thick serums, gels and pure vegetable oils; they come out as a jet or clog the nozzle. For thick contents, choose a dropper or a pump instead.
How much liquid should be filled into a 10 ml pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer?
Fill up to the nominal volume of 10 ml, not to the brim. The space above this level is a reserve for the sprayer dip tube and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. If the bottle is overfilled, the tube pushes part of the liquid out and the closure may not seal properly.
Is the pharmaceutical bottle and sprayer set suitable for food?
No, the set as a whole is not approved for contact with food. Only the amber PET bottle has a separate certificate for direct contact with food; the black sprayer has no such declaration. Use the set for cosmetic and similar non-food products.
Can a plastic pharmaceutical bottle with a sprayer be cleaned and reused?
Yes, once empty, the bottle is washed, rinsed with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and left to dry. The sprayer is cleaned by spraying pure alcohol through it several times, so that residues of the previous contents are removed from the tube and the nozzle. Before refilling, check that the nozzle sprays evenly.
Can a PET pharmaceutical bottle withstand essential oils and alcohol?
PET tolerates common alcohol-based toners and eau de parfum. For contents with a high proportion of pure essential oils or for solvents, we recommend testing on one bottle first, because aggressive substances can attack the plastic. Do not fill PET with hot solutions, as heat deforms the material.
