Product description
The brown plastic bottle with pump dispenser is a complete packaging and closure set for serums, oils and light emulsions used in small doses. The 30 ml bottle is made of brown PET, which filters light and therefore protects light-sensitive contents such as plant oils, vitamin serums or products with a higher proportion of essential oils. The plastic is lightweight and shatterproof, making the set suitable for handbags, travel or sample kits. The white and gold glossy pump dispenser delivers the same dose with each press, the contents do not spill and you do not touch the product with your fingers during use, which is more hygienic.
The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity and test certificates are listed with the product.
What the set is suitable for
The small volume and precise dosing make this set a packaging choice primarily for concentrated and more fluid products:
- Facial serums and fluids – both water-based and oil-based, with active ingredients, where the customer needs one to two doses per application.
- Facial and hair oils – the dispenser delivers a precise amount without dripping, and the brown bottle protects oxidation-prone oils from light.
- Light emulsions and fluid creams – provided they are fluid enough to be drawn up by the dispenser tube.
- Eye area and décolleté serums – a small dose corresponds to actual usage, so the contents are not wasted.
- Samples and travel sizes – the 30 ml volume is suitable for test versions of formulations or smaller gift sets.
The dispenser is not suitable for thick creams, butters or products with solid particles (scrubs, gels with beads). For thicker textures we recommend filling into jars or combining with a closure without a pump.
How the dispenser works
The dispenser has a tube that reaches to the bottom of the bottle. When the pump head is pressed, the product is drawn up through the tube and dispensed through the outlet. One press delivers approximately 0.14 ml of content, which corresponds to a dose of serum or facial oil. The dispenser body is made of plastic, the shiny gold collar of aluminium. The outlet is covered by a transparent protective cap that prevents accidental pressing during transport.
The dispenser tube is supplied longer than the height of the bottle. Before screwing it in for the first time, trim it with a sharp knife or scissors so that the angled cut end reaches just to the bottom without bending. A tube that is too long will kink and the dispenser will stop drawing up product.
Before first use the dispenser must be primed. After filling and screwing on, press the pump head several times until the tube is filled with product and an even dose starts to dispense.
Filling and volume
Packaging distinguishes between nominal volume and total brim-full volume. The nominal volume is the volume the packaging is designed for at normal fill levels. The total brim-full volume is the physical capacity of the bottle up to the neck. The difference between them provides headspace for the tube and dispenser body, which take up part of the bottle space when screwed in, and for the expansion of contents with temperature changes. The bottle should therefore be filled to the nominal volume, not to the brim. If overfilled, the contents will overflow through the neck when the dispenser is fitted, contaminating the thread and reducing the seal.
When filling liquid products we recommend using a funnel or filling syringe to keep the thread clean and dry. Fill thicker emulsions when slightly warm, while the product is more fluid, and fit the dispenser only after it has cooled.
Good to know
- Preparation before first filling – wash the bottle, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Rinse the dispenser with clean water and allow to drip dry. Residual moisture in the tube could dilute the first doses of an anhydrous product.
- Repeated use – the set can be used multiple times if both the bottle and dispenser are thoroughly cleaned. Pump clean warm water through the tube and dispenser body; for oil-based products, use a mild surfactant first. When switching to a different product type, for example from oil to a water-based serum, thorough rinsing is essential, otherwise residues will mix.
- Residue at the bottom – the tube does not reach fully into the corners of the base, so a small amount of product will remain unpumped. Account for this in pricing and declared contents.
- Material and contents – PET and PP are compatible with standard cosmetic formulations including emulsions, water-based serums and plant oils. They are not suitable for undiluted essential oils, aggressive solvents or products that could attack the plastic. For formulations with a high alcohol content or unusual ingredients, we recommend verifying the seal and packaging behaviour in a short stability test.
- Temperature – do not fill the plastic with hot contents. Allow emulsions to cool before filling and fill them at room temperature or slightly warm.
- Labelling – the cylindrical shape of the bottle allows a label to be applied around the full circumference.
- Other closures – the bottle has the standard neck size listed in the parameters, so it can be combined with other closures of the same type from the Handymade range. For a custom combination, we recommend verifying the seal and dispensing with your specific formulation.
- Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and belongs in plastic waste. The dispenser combines plastic with an aluminium collar, so before disposal unscrew it from the bottle and discard separately.
Only the bottle has a food-contact certificate on its own. The dispenser does not, and therefore the set as a whole is not intended for food use. Use it for cosmetic products.
