FEATHER BALM

Back09. 08. 2019 Tutorials
Since it's a hot summer here and we want our balm to stay as solid as possible in these high temperatures, we need to choose ingredients that have a higher melting point.
So, for example, instead of coconut oil, which is ideal for winter balms, we use waxes and cocoa butter, shea butter.
Even with the above quantities, a bit of experimentation is necessary to determine the right ratio of ingredients. It's not just a question of temperature, but also of your preferences and subjective feeling. So if you find the balm too thick for you, substitute shea/cocoa butter for the next time you make it. butter with coconut oil or reduce the amount of wax, which makes your lips feel like you've applied the old-fashioned deer tallow. Not everyone is comfortable with this feeling on the lips.

But let's get to the recipe itself.

To make the balm, we'll need

30 g of natural beeswax
you can also use an alternative - candelilla wax, carnauba wax, jojoba wax
20 g of cocoa butter
you can choose natural or deodorized, depending on whether you want to smell the cocoa aroma
49.5 g of oil
you can choose any nourishing oil, for example almond, avocado jojoba, castor oil is excellent, but it's thicker, so reduce the dosage.there is a very wide choice on the market at the moment, from refined to cold pressed to organic quality, it's up to you what quality of ingredients you choose
0.5 g of essential oil*
we have chosen a combination of myrrh and sweet orange in a ratio of 1:4
*0.1 g of essential oil is approximately 2-3 drops
You can also substitute the essential oil with flavourings for the balms.

Procedure:

Melt and mix all ingredients except essential in a hot water bath, set aside and add drops of essential oil.

Since we have our new colored balm sticks on offer, they are begging to be filled with colored balm. So feel free to experiment with our Mica powders as well.
