Product description

Fine mist instead of pouring: a ready-made bottle and closure set for facial tonics, hydrolats and mists. The transparent plastic bottle with a nominal volume of 100 ml is assembled with a sprayer featuring a glossy black-gold body and a smoke-coloured cap, so there is no need to worry about seal integrity or tube length. It is suitable wherever the contents are applied in small doses directly to the skin, hair or fabric – for tonics, hydrolats, mists, hair and body sprays or spray deodorants.

The transparent bottle reveals the contents and their colour, which is an advantage with clear and lightly tinted products. PET is lightweight and shatter-resistant, so the set withstands being carried in a bag and everyday bathroom use. The black-gold look with a smoke-coloured cap gives the packaging a cohesive appearance that works with darker labels as well as minimalist design.

Key benefits

  • Fine mist – the mechanical sprayer breaks the contents into small droplets, so tonic or mist can be applied evenly directly to the skin or hair without a cotton pad.
  • Hygienic dispensing – the contents are neither poured out nor scooped with fingers; the sprayer dispenses them in small doses.
  • Transparent bottle – the volume and clarity of the contents are visible at a glance; any cloudiness or sediment will be noticed immediately.
  • Lightweight and durable material – PET weighs a fraction of glass and will not crack on impact, making it suitable for travel packaging as well.
  • Smoke-coloured cap – protects the nozzle from dust and accidental pressing, while leaving the colour of the pump head visible.
  • Proven combination – the bottle and sprayer share the same neck type, the dip tube reaches almost to the bottom of the bottle, and the contents can be dispensed almost to the last drop.

What the set is suitable for

The sprayer works reliably only with thin, watery contents. The best results are achieved with products having the consistency of water or a very light emulsion:

  • facial tonics and hydrolats,
  • facial and body mists, including mists with glycerin or a low proportion of humectants,
  • hair sprays for easier detangling, leave-in conditioner sprays,
  • spray deodorants on a water or alcohol base,
  • refreshing and aromatic sprays for interiors or fabric,
  • body waters with a higher alcohol content, after verifying the behaviour of the plastic with the given formulation.

Thick emulsions, creams, gels with higher viscosity, and oil serums cannot be dispensed reliably through the sprayer. For such products, pump bottles, dropper bottles or jars are more suitable.

The sprayer is not intended for thick or oily contents. With more viscous formulations, the nozzle will clog, the dose will be uneven and the mechanism may be damaged.

Nominal and total volume

The nominal volume of 100 ml is the volume for which the bottle is intended under normal filling. The total volume up to the rim of the neck is slightly larger. The difference serves as a reserve for the sprayer dip tube, which pushes some of the contents upward when screwed on, and for the expansion of the contents with temperature changes. The bottle is therefore filled to the nominal volume, not to the rim. If overfilled, the contents will overflow when the sprayer is screwed on, or the closure will not tighten properly.

When filling, leave room in the neck for the dip tube. The first two to three pumps with each new fill serve only to draw the contents up the tube – only after that should you check whether the sprayer produces an even mist.

What is worth knowing when filling and using

Light and content stability. The transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light. For light-sensitive products, particularly those containing essential oils, botanical extracts or vitamins, light can accelerate changes in colour and scent. Such products are better filled into a brown or blue container, or the set can be complemented with an outer cardboard box.

Alcohol and essential oils. PET is resistant to most water-based and mildly alcoholic contents. With a high alcohol content, larger amounts of essential oils or solvents, verify the behaviour of the bottle and particularly the sprayer seals with the specific formulation. Leave a filled sample to stand for several weeks and monitor for deformation, plastic odour and seal integrity.

Preparation before first filling. Rinse the bottle and sprayer before use, disinfect with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allow to dry completely. Flush the sprayer by submerging the dip tube in clean alcohol and pressing the pump several times. Any residual water in the tube would introduce a microbial risk into the product.

Water-based contents require preservation. The sprayer limits contact of the contents with fingers, but the system is not hermetically sealed – after each press, air is drawn into the bottle. Hydrolats, tonics and mists must therefore be properly preserved regardless of the type of packaging.

Reuse. The bottle and sprayer can be used again for the same type of product after thorough washing and disinfection. When changing the contents, for example from a perfumed spray to a tonic, the plastic and the dip tube may retain the scent of the previous contents.

Labelling. The cylindrical body of the bottle is easy to label; the bottle dimensions can be found in the specifications. With a transparent container, a clear label also works well, allowing the colour of the contents to show through.

Food and cosmetics. The set as a whole is intended for cosmetic products and is declared as suitable for contact with cosmetics. The bottle individually holds a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not, so we do not recommend the set for food purposes.

Recycling. The bottle is made of PET, which belongs in the sorted plastic waste collection. The sprayer consists of plastic and aluminium; before disposal, unscrew it from the bottle and dispose of them separately.

Closures and combinations

This set is already assembled, but the bottle has a standard neck and can also be combined with other closures of the same neck type – you can find the range of closures and ready-made combinations in the Handymade assortment. When making your own combination, verify the seal, dispensing behaviour and container performance with the specific formulation.

Frequently asked questions

Is the 100 ml plastic spray bottle suitable for a hydrolat or facial tonic?
Yes, hydrolats and tonics are the most typical use for this set. The thin watery contents pass through the sprayer without difficulty and the fine mist allows the tonic to be applied directly to the skin without a cotton pad. The hydrolat must be properly preserved, because the sprayer draws air into the bottle with each press, and the transparent bottle does not protect the contents from light.
Does the transparent PET bottle protect the contents from light?
No, transparent PET transmits light. With blends containing essential oils, extracts or vitamins, light can accelerate changes in colour and scent. Transparent packaging is suitable for stable water-based and alcohol-based formulations; for light-sensitive contents, choose a brown or blue bottle, or complement the set with an outer box.
Can oil or cream be dispensed through the sprayer?
No, the sprayer is intended for thin, watery contents. Oils, serums with higher viscosity and cream-type emulsions do not pass through the nozzle evenly; the mechanism clogs and the dose is irregular. For oils and thicker products, pump or dropper bottles are suitable; for creams, jars.
Why is the spray bottle not filled to the rim?
Because the sprayer dip tube, once screwed on, pushes some of the contents upward, and the contents need room to expand with temperature changes. The bottle is filled to the nominal volume of 100 ml; the total volume up to the neck is larger and serves as a reserve. If overfilled, the contents will overflow or the sprayer cannot be tightened properly.
Is the bottle and sprayer set approved for contact with food?
No, the set as a whole is intended for cosmetics. The plastic bottle individually holds a certificate for direct food contact; the sprayer does not, so the assembled set is not used for oils, syrups or beverages. Both parts are declared as suitable for contact with cosmetic products.
