Product description
Plastic pharmaceutical bottle, clear, 50 ml with a white fine mist sprayer forms a ready-to-use set for products applied by spraying: facial and hair toners, hydrolates, refreshing facial sprays or alcohol-based solutions. The PET bottle is lightweight and does not break when dropped, so it withstands being carried in a handbag, on trips and in everyday use in the bathroom. The clear wall lets you see the contents and how much is left, which is useful for sprays that you refill. The fine mist sprayer screws directly onto the neck of the bottle and both parts have the same neck finish, so the thread seals tightly.
What the set is suitable for
- Water-based and alcohol-based products – hydrolates, toners, hair waters and facial refreshers. Thin solutions pass through the nozzle and disperse into fine droplets.
- Samples and test batches – a volume of 50 ml is enough to try out a recipe or to make a sample for a customer before you decide on a larger size.
- Household sprays – fragrance sprays for textiles or rooms on a water-alcohol base.
- Travel size – lightweight, small-volume packaging that will not break in your luggage.
Thick emulsions, gels and vegetable oils are not suitable for this set. The fine mist sprayer will not disperse them into a mist, the mechanism may become blocked and the dose will be irregular. For oils and thicker serums, a pump or a bottle with a dropper from the Handymade range is more suitable.
Sprayer and dispensing
One press releases approximately 0.07 ml of the contents. This small dose suits toners and refreshing sprays, where the skin or hair should receive only a thin layer. When using it for the first time, prime the sprayer by pressing it several times until the tube fills and it starts to dispense evenly.
The sprayer tube is longer than the bottle. Before assembling it for the first time, shorten it with a sharp knife or scissors so that it ends just above the bottom. An angled cut at the end helps to draw up even the last remainder of the contents when the tube rests against the bottom.
The bottle and the fine mist sprayer have the same neck finish, so the set is supplied as a matched pair. If you later choose a different closure, look in the Handymade range for closures with the neck finish given in the parameters, and when making your own combination, check the seal and dispensing with your specific formulation.
Filling and volume
Nominal volume is the amount the bottle is designed for under normal filling. Total brimful volume is the physical volume up to the neck and is always larger. The difference between them is a reserve for the sprayer tube, for the air above the surface and for the expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. For this reason, the bottle is filled only up to the nominal volume.
Pour in the contents once they have cooled and leave free space below the neck. If the bottle is filled to the brim, the tube and the inner part of the sprayer push the liquid out and it floods the sprayer when you screw it on for the first time.
Good to know
- Light – clear plastic does not protect the contents from light. Store products containing essential oils, vitamins or light-sensitive plant extracts in the dark, or choose amber or blue glass for them.
- Material compatibility – PET tolerates water, hydrolates and alcohol-based solutions in usual concentrations. Do not expose the bottle to aggressive chemicals. With a higher proportion of essential oils or solvents, we recommend checking before filling a larger batch whether the wall of the bottle turns cloudy or softens.
- Heat – PET is not intended for hot filling. Let both the water phase and the finished solution cool to room temperature before pouring.
- Preparation before first filling – rinse the bottle with clean water, disinfect it with ethanol or isopropyl alcohol and let it dry completely. Rinse the sprayer with water and spray it several times so that no water remains in the tube.
- Preserving the contents – water-based sprays need a preservative just as in any other packaging. The sprayer limits contact with fingers, but air is drawn into the bottle with every press.
- Reuse – after thorough washing and drying, the set can be filled again. When changing the type of contents, for example from an alcohol-based spray to a hydrolate, rinse the tube and the nozzle as well, otherwise the fragrances and residues will mix.
- Recycling – the bottle is made of PET and the sprayer of PP. Before disposal, separate them and sort them as plastic.
The set as a whole is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. You will find the declaration of conformity with the product.
Only the bottle has a separate certificate for direct food contact. The sprayer does not have one, so the set as a whole is not intended for food and is intended for cosmetics and household products.
