Product description
A plastic bottle in the shape of a vial with a volume of 50 ml supplied complete with a black cream dispenser pump is a ready-made container for face creams, light emulsions, body lotions and serums dispensed by pressing. The transparent PET is lightweight and shatterproof, and the contents are visible through it, making it easy to monitor how much product remains. The set is particularly suitable for small batches, samples and travel sizes where hygienic dispensing without dipping fingers into the container matters.
What the set consists of and how it works
The set consists of a transparent PET bottle and a black polypropylene pump that screws onto the neck. The dip tube reaches almost to the bottom, so virtually the entire contents can be used. Each press releases a small measured dose, which is practical for creams and serums where only a small amount is applied to the skin.
- Hygienic dispensing – the contents only come out through the pump; fingers never touch the inside of the bottle, which reduces the risk of contaminating the fill.
- Precise small doses – the pump is designed for creams and serums where a small amount per application is sufficient.
- Lightweight and shatterproof container – PET withstands drops and transport, suitable for the bathroom, handbag and travel.
- Transparent wall – the colour of the contents and the remaining amount are visible, making the container easy to check once filled.
What products it is suitable for
The cream pump handles liquid to medium-thick contents: face creams, light and medium O/W emulsions, body lotions, water-based and oil-based serums, gel serums and liquid oil blends. With very thick creams, butters and solid anhydrous balms, the pump cannot draw up the contents and dispensing becomes irregular. For such products, a jar or tub is more suitable.
The bottle alone holds food-contact certification, but the pump does not. The set as a whole is therefore intended for cosmetics and is declared suitable for contact with cosmetic products. The declaration of conformity can be found on the product page.
Nominal and total volume
The nominal volume is the volume for which the container is designed under normal filling conditions, in this case 50 ml. The total volume to the brim is greater, because the bottle has a reserve above the nominal level for the pump dip tube, for air and for expansion of the contents when the temperature changes. Fill to the nominal volume, not to the neck. If overfilled, when the pump is screwed on, the contents will be pushed out through the dip tube and the container may leak.
Before screwing on for the first time, press the pump several times over a sink while empty to check it moves freely. After filling, keep pressing until the dip tube is filled. The first two to three doses are usually weaker until the pump is primed.
Good to know
Before first filling, we recommend washing the bottle and pump, sanitising with isopropyl alcohol or ethanol and allowing to dry completely. The pump cannot be disassembled into individual parts, so when cleaning, rinse it with clean water and a small amount of alcohol and press it several times to flush the dip tube and nozzle as well.
PET is not suitable for hot filling. Allow emulsions and oil blends to cool to room temperature before filling, otherwise the container may deform and the neck dimensions may change.
For products with a high proportion of essential oils, neat solvents or alcohol, we recommend checking the behaviour of the container with the specific formulation. Both PET and polypropylene may soften or become cloudy after prolonged contact with concentrated fragrance components.
The transparent wall allows light to pass through. Contents sensitive to light, such as emulsions with vitamin C, retinol or unstable plant oils, should be stored away from direct sunlight, protected with a label or packaged in an opaque container. The pump is not airless; with each press, air enters the bottle, so water-based and emulsion products require preservation as with any standard container.
The container can be reused after thorough washing and disinfection. The bottle is made of PET and the pump of polypropylene; once empty, both parts should be sorted as plastic waste.
Closures with the same neck type as stated in the product parameters, as well as other ready-made bottle and closure combinations, can be found in the Handymade range. When creating your own combination, we recommend checking the seal, dispensing and behaviour of the container with the specific formulation.
